摘要： A false ceiling having flexible material connected to an elongate U-shaped beam or rail, the beam fixedly connected to existing trusses via clamps. The U-shaped beam has a pair of vertical flanges with inner surfaces for receiving an end portion of the flexible material. Strips of hook-and-loop material are fixed on the inner surfaces of the vertical flanges for gripping corresponding hook-and-loop material strips on the end portions of the flexible material. Lightweight foam blocks are sized to tightly fit between the pair of vertical flanges to assist the connection of the hook-and-loop material strips on the flexible material to the vertical flanges. A decorative cap is connected to the beam to cover the connections of the beam to the truss and to the flexible material.

摘要： The present invention relates to a loose roof plate retensioning device for the roof of a mine. The device is comprised of an externally threaded split bushing, a spacer unit and an internally threaded nut, the threading being complementary to that of the threaded bushing. When a roof plate becomes loose and drops down on the head of the roof bolt to leave a space between the roof and the roof plate, the device of the present invention allows the roof plate to be snugged against the mine roof.

The grooves of the surface image are thereby supposed to be very narrow and are supposed to be formed, instead of by the supports, rather by the ceiling tiles themselves, which are supposed to be designed individually capable of being assembled and disassembled. The invention uses for this purpose specially built supports, into which the ceiling tiles can be suspended, which, however, can also be set up to support such ceiling tiles.

摘要： A method of installing insulation under a pre-existing roof of a building of a type having a spaced apart structural beams standing in one direction under the roof and a plurality of spaced apart elongated purlins extending transversely to the structural beams and being supported by the structural beams. Purlin clips are used which connect to the purlins at the top and to a lower support member at the bottom thereof. The method includes installing an upper support member across from one to the other of an adjacent pair of purlins. An upper strip of insulation is positioned between adjacent pairs of purlins above the upper support member whereby the strip of insulation will be supported by the upper support member. A lower strip of insulation is attached at one end into one of the structural beams, under the upper layer of insulation, and to the other of the structural beams at the other end thereof. A lower support member is then attached between adjacent purlin clips and under the lower strip of insulation for supporting the under side of the lower strip of insulation. The upper support member or members are then removed so that the upper strip of insulation will move down and be supported on top of the lower strip of insulation.

摘要： The conversion ceiling system disclosed may be installed immediately under a pre-existing ceiling without dismantling or removing the pre-existing ceiling. The conversion ceiling system includes pans which are adapted to cooperate with conventional inverted T-beams which, if pre-existing, support the pre-existing ceiling panels. The T-beams support the conversion pans in a side-by-side array to form a new ceiling surface. Each of the conversion pans includes a horizontally extending plate having a specially formed upwardly turned peripheral rim. At least two portions of the rim include laterally projecting tabs for engaging the flanges of T-beams and at least one of the tabs has an upstanding stop to limit the horizontal movement of the pan. The ceiling assembly may include a number of resilient clips securing the upstanding stops on the rims of the pans to the T-beams. Alternately, the pre-existing ceiling tiles may engage the stop to prevent horizontal movement of the pans. Filler pieces mask the T-beams in the proximity of light fixtures, ventilation ducts, walls and the like, giving the ceiling a continuous one-piece appearance. The conversion pans may be made of metal or other material, and various decorative coatings including mirror-like finishes may be applied to the exposed portion of the pans.
