摘要： A fence slat is provided that can be inserted in the channels of a wire mesh fence. The body of the slat defines, in a cross-section cut perpendicular to the long axis of the slat, a substantially hourglass shape having a central narrowed portion between a pair of wider portions. The slat body includes front and back walls and side edges with an internal cavity within. The front and back walls have concave outer surfaces and the edges may be rounded or squared. One or more ribs within the internal cavity of the slat body interconnect the front wall and the back wall. The hourglass shape provides a narrower central portion for the slat body as compared to the width at the edges and the ribs, when positioned in or nearer the central portion are narrower than the width at the edges. The wider edges provide sufficient width to be held frictionally within the wire mesh channel, while the narrower ribs require less material than would be necessary for a uniform width.

The utility side may include an integral beverage holder, hooks, tiedown loops, or a hook-and-loop fastener. The utility side may be integral to the side of a bottle, such that the bottle may be supported by a chain link fence. The utility side may support a clasp system, where one portion of the clasp is attached to the base of the apparatus, and the second portion of the clasp is attached to an item to be supported, such that the item may be attached to the base or removed from the base by engaging or disengaging the clasp.

Each slat has first and second slat surfaces and first and second slat edges, and has a notch located in a portion of a slat end. The notch extends transversally from the first to the second slat edge. The device includes a cap having a first panel connected to an intermediate panel. A guide rail connects to the first panel. The guide rail has first and second spaced apart longitudinal stop ends located inwardly away from respective first and second panel side edges for cooperation with notches of respective slats. The guide rail is slidably and longitudinally engageable by the notches in generally opposed directions along restricted paths of travel from one of the stop ends toward the other one of the stop ends to retain the notches thereon.

摘要： A single-wall slat constructed either of plastic or of a composite material. The slat is designed for insertion by a machine into a chain link fence. Although the basic slat is surprisingly suitable for this purpose, stiffness of the slat is optionally increased by placing one or more strips on the face, or, preferably, on the face and back, of the slat, having a curved cross section for the slat, or adding angled wings to the slat. Serrated wings are an additional option, primarily for increasing privacy and for enhancing frictional retention of the slat within a fence. Preferably, the serrated wings are angled upward with respect to the longitudinal axis of the slat.

摘要： A combination includes a fence and a protective guard. The fence has vertical posts with upper ends and at least one top support bar extending between the vertical posts. The protective guard includes a tubular member having first and second ends, an outer surface extending between the first and second ends, an inner surface extending between the first and second ends that defines an interior space, and a slot extending between the inner and outer surfaces and the first and second ends of the tubular member. The tubular member is secured over an upper edge of the fence so that the upper ends of the vertical posts and the at least one top support bar are captured within the interior space of the tubular member. The combination also includes a spacer positioned between the inner surface of the tubular member and the at least one top support bar for supporting the tubular member between the vertical posts, and insulation material disposed in the slot and the interior space of the tubular member for sealing the interior space of the tubular member.

摘要： A protective guard securable over a top support bar of a fence includes an elongated member, such as an elongated tube, having first and second ends, an outer surface, an inner surface defining an interior space for capturing the top support bar and an elongated opening extending between the inner and outer surfaces and the first and second ends of the elongated member, whereby the elongated tubular member is securable over the top support bar of the fence. First and second attachment flanges are integrally formed with the elongated tube on opposite sides of the elongated opening, the first and second attachment flanges being adapted for engaging opposite sides of the fence when the protective guard is secured atop the top support bar of the fence. The protective guard may also include at least one securing element in contact with the first and second attachment flanges for securing the attachment flanges together on opposite sides of the fence.

摘要： A retaining-locking system for chain link fence slats includes specially notched fence slat elements having a pointed upper or lower end. The slat elements are sized and shaped to be interwoven between consecutive links of a chain link fence. A retaining-locking strip is formed of resilient material, and has an inner surface and an outer surface and at least one securing protrusion. The securing protrusion is sized and shaped to fit slidably within the notch. The protrusion is located on the outer surface of the strip. When the slat elements are interwoven into between consecutive links of a chain link fence with each of the notches aligned with one another, the retaining-locking strip inserted between the slat elements and the links, with the securing protrusion disposed within the slats, the strip will urge the slats toward the links, thereby retaining the slats within the chain link fence.
