The present device relates to a combustion boiler having a fan part provided with a driving motor, a suction fan secured on a rotary shaft of the driving motor and disposed on a suction line, for forcedly sucking air in the room or from the outside, and an exhaust fan secured on the rotary shaft of the driving motor and disposed on an exhaust line, for forcedly exhausting an exhaust gas to the outside. Hence, the air in the room or from the outside is forcedly sucked to the suction line by means of the suction fan and the exhaust gas is forcedly exhausted to the exhaust line by means of the exhaust fan. In this way, the flowing of air is constantly kept in all of the suction, combustion and exhaust lines.

A wind-resistant heating appliance has a housing with air inlet openings for sustaining combustion generating flue products inside that housing which also has an outlet for flue products. The heating appliance has a top structure above that outlet and the housing. A top wall of that top structure is penetrated with exhaust openings for flue products along opposite edges of that top structure. The outlet between the housing and the top structure is provided with a transverse outlet channel inside the top structure and has opposite ends open at the exhaust openings adjacent the opposite edges of the top structure. That transverse outlet channel is solidly enclosed along its top, sides and bottom between the opposite ends, except for the outlet between the housing and the top structure. The exhaustion of flue products in various wind conditions is further aided by increasing the speed of flue products passing through the outlet from the housing to the transverse outlet channel. Where such speed increase is effected by a flue product collector diminishing in cross-section from the housing to the transverse outlet channel, that diminishing cross-section for exhausting flue products conversely presents an increasing cross-section for downdrafts, which diminishes their impact on the heater operation.

In a method and apparatus for lifting gas streams, vertical streams of air and/or gases of a great height are artificially formed in the atmosphere, mainly for decontamination purposes, by heating the air throughout a circular area sufficient to produce a shaft effect, so as to form an ascending column of air and/or gases. The air and/or gases are then driven within the column to produce a rotatory movement thereof to form a vortex. Once a column of a sufficient height has been formed, the rotatory driving action on the air and/or gases is interrupted while the heating thereof is maintained so that the vortex is maintained by the lifting force induced by heat.

In one embodiment, the fan arrangement includes hinged blades and, in another, centrifugally erected sail rotors.
