摘要： Lighter using liquefied gas under pressure comprises a casing, a cap for said casing, a reservoir provided with a valve leading to a burner, and an ignition mechanism comprising an abrasive wheel, a flint biassed against the abrasive wheel, and valve control means actuated by the movement of said cap through a spring, one part of which spring is connected to the cap to hold it in either open or closed position and the other part of which spring is adapted to be displaced by the movement of the spring part connected to the cap and cooperates with the valve to open the valve during opening of the cap. The spring also comprises a third part cooperating with the flint to bias said flint against the abrasive wheel.

摘要： A cigarette lighter has a body portion with a fuel supply, an igniter for causing combustion of fuel from the fuel supply, a nozzle for causing the combusted fuel into a flame of a desired shape, an actuator for causing release of fuel from the fuel supply to the igniter then actuation of the igniter to cause the combustion, and a lid affixed to the body and movable between a closed state wherein the lid covers the nozzle and an open sated wherein the lid exposes the nozzle. Upon completion of use, the actuator also causes movement of the lid from the open state to the closed state.

摘要： A cover, removably mounted in a recess at one end of a cigarette lighter body, permits access to lighter service points within the recess. The cover includes an integral member formed of a plastics material and having a plate-like body consisting of a first section hinged to a second section by a reduced thickness section of the body. Projections extend from the first section of the body for releasably holding it within the recess. A hollow cylindrical spigot extends from the second section and is secured into the recess by a bayonet-like connection. By lifting the first section out of the recess it can be displaced angularly about its hinged connection to the second section and access can be obtained to the part of the recess covered by the first section. If necessary, the second section can be removed by twisting the plate-like body to open the bayonet-like connection with the lighter body. A spring is fitted into the spigot on the second section for biasing a lighter part, such as a battery, to the lighter.
