    摘要: Exemplary methods and apparatus for testing an electrically fired item, e.g., a primer-only cartridge or all-up round (AUR) cartridge, in a variety of modes are provided. For example, a test system may provide a method of testing a primer-only cartridge and an apparatus to execute such method. Various parameters associated with operation of the electrically fired item, such as a primer or initiator, may be varied and measured using an embodiment including programmable selection of a pulse duration for firing control signals, a voltage of the firing control signals, and a number of pulses associated with the firing control signals. An inline resistance of the path of the control signals may also be adjusted. Test data including temperature, pressure, voltage, and/or current associated with operation of the electrically fired item may be measured during tests and displayed on a display device.

    摘要: A wedge-type breechblock is disposed at the breech end of a gun. A cartridge chamber having a length L1 in the wedge-type breechblock accommodates propellant igniters, with obturation being effected by the respective propellant igniters. A firing mechanism operatively disposed at the wedge-type breechblock detonates propellant igniters loaded into the cartridge chamber from a magazine. A propellant igniter magazine is disposed adjacent the wedge-type breechblock and includes a guide chute and individual propellant igniters lined up in a row in the guide chute. The propellant igniters each have a casing and a length L2 which is greater than the length L1 of the cartridge chamber so that when a propellant igniter is loaded in the cartridge chamber in a firing position, a rear portion of the propellant igniter remains within the casing.

    摘要: An improved rifle-actuated rocket weapon system and an improved method foriming the system in relation to a short range target by firing one or more tracer bullets until it is aimed at the target for launching the rocket weapon. The system is generally made up of a spotting rifle and a rocket weapon launch tube subassembly. The rifle is provided with a magazine for carrying one or more tracer bullets. Fluid passageway means are provided in the launch tube subassembly, rocket weapon fuse device, and rifle. Interconnection of the passageway means with the bullet accelerating and guiding passageway of the rifle is effected by a manually operated normally closed valve. The valve is disposed in the rifle and is operatively associated with the passageway means. When the system is aimed at the target, the valve is opened and a final bullet is fired such that the high temperature, pressurized gases of the bullet are directed via the passageway means to ignite the rocket fuel and arm the rocket weapon fuse device as the weapon is launched to strike the target. The rocket weapon can be positively secured to the launch tube subassembly by a gas-releasable pin that is inserted in the passageway means and that is disposed between the weapon and the subassembly. Since the system is portable and shoulder-held, it is easily maneuverable for progressively aiming the system in relation to a short-range target to be destroyed by a system-launched rocket weapon.
