    摘要: A bullet system including a bullet body with a tail portion engaged with a polymer cup that provides enhanced engagement of the barrel upon firing. The bullet system may have a radial retracted state that corresponds to an elongated axial state of the bullet system that allows the cupped bullet to be fed down the barrel at a reduced diameter with reduced engagement with the barrel. The radial expansion of the bullet system occurs upon axial length reduction of the bullet system by axial compression. The axial compression can occur upon firing of the propellant or when loading with the ramrod. The bullet system can provide a tactile seat force indicator tip insert within the tip of the bullet body that provides a tactile sensation when the bullet is properly seated against the propellant charge. A cutting edge may be provided for scraping the barrel upon insertion of the bullet.

In order to permit a further use of the weapon system essentially without delay on jamming, a configuration of the weapon system is disclosed that has a weapon barrel, a projectile magazine with individual chambers and a propellant charge magazine with individual chambers. In order to guarantee a firing position, the projectile magazine and the propellant charge magazine, may be moved relative to the weapon barrel. The projectile magazine has a chamber located in a discharge position in which an ejector device for the projectile in the chamber may be activated. A further chamber of the projectile magazine may be loaded in the movement position for the projectile magazine and the propellant charge magazine has a chamber, located in a discharge position in which an ejector device for the propellant charge in the chamber may be activated. The further chamber of the propellant charge magazine may be loaded in the movement position of the propellant charge magazine.

    摘要: A firing module having a fully automatic shell supply mechanism for supplying shells to a heavy weapon in a housing. A shell ram having a loading tray is disposed on a free end of a shell transfer arm that is pivotable between a raised position, in which the loading tray is aligned with the gun bore axis, parallel to a plane of elevation, and a lowered position, in which the tray is essentially vertical. A gripping mechanism on a shell transport arm grasps a vertical shell stored in at least one ammunition magazine for supplying a shell from a shell transporter, to the loading tray, in the lowered position of the shell transfer arm. The ammunition magazines and transporter are disposed in the housing ahead of a trunnion. The loading tray is pivotable about a pivot axis, which is essentially vertical in the lowered position of the shell transfer arm, by at least 180° between a receiving position opening ahead of the trunnion, and a delivery position opening behind the trunnion. At least one propellant charge magazine is disposed in the housing next to or behind the trunnion. A fully automatic propellant charge supply mechanism is disposed in the housing for supplying propellant charges to the weapon, and has a propellant charge supply tray pivotable into a region behind the weapon and in alignment with the gun bore axis.

    摘要: A weapon and ammunition carrier for a gun (3) has a housing (1) which is pivotal about an elevation axis (2) to elevate the gun (3). A magazine (8) for ammunition is provided in the housing, and a loading tray (22) is disposed in the housing between the magazine (8) and the gun (3). The magazine (8) is located behind the rear recoil position of the gun (3) and has upper and lower levels. The upper magazine level is configured to hold projectiles (9) in such a manner that the middle projectile (9) is aligned with the axis of the gun barrel (4), and the lower magazine level is configured to hold propelling charges (10). The magazine (8) is provided with a projectile ejector (11) and with a propelling charge ejector (21), with the projectile ejector (11) also serving as rammer. A catching and holding device (12), which can be released in response to operation of the projectile ejector (11 ), is positioned at the rear recoil position of the gun (3) to releasably lock the gun (3) in the rear recoil position while a projectile (9) is rammed in. A recuperator (26) then axially advances the gun (3) from the rear recoil position to the firing position. The loading tray (22) is disposed at the height of the lower magazine level to receive the propelling charges (10), and is equipped with a parallelogram suspension (23) by means of which the loading tray (22) can be pivoted into position to load the propelling charges (10) into the gun (3).

    摘要: A firearm comprises a barrel having a bore and a receiver forming an ignition chamber. A bolt is slidable in the ignition chamber and includes a striker projection for igniting a primer of the projectile. A bolt advancing mechanism comprises an arm having a first end mounted on the bolt such that a second end of the arm is movable laterally relative to the fore-aft axis. A boss is carried at the second end of the arm. An actuator member is movable in the fore-aft direction relative to the bolt and boss, and includes a first cam surface inclined relative to the fore-aft axis for urging the boss forwardly and laterally. The boss is movable laterally along the first cam surface in response to the boss becoming aligned with a lateral groove in the receiver. Such lateral movement of the boss is in a direction tending to displace the bolt forwardly. The actuator member (i) pushes the boss and bolt forwardly to shift the projectile to a firing position, (ii) cams the boss into the groove to further displace the bolt forwardly and ignite the primer, and (iii) blocks movement of the boss from the groove until ignition occurs, whereupon a second cam surface displaces the boss outwardly.

    摘要: A firearm includes a housing having a detonation chamber and a projectile-discharge barrel. A displaceable piston is mounted at the discharge end of the barrel and is arranged to be acted upon and extended by combustion gases expelled from the barrel. Forward movement of the piston is transmitted to the housing in a manner tending to counteract recoil. The detonation chamber is arranged to receive a compression-responsive cartridge. A cartridge-detonating bolt is mounted within the bolt for reciprocal movement between cocked and discharge positions. A bolt-follower includes a locking device which is operable to temporarily lock the bolt against return movement to a cocked position while enabling the bolt to rotate. A cam-like configuration of the working end of the bolt compresses the cartridge in response to rotation of the bolt. The bolt-follower is coupled to the displaceable piston such that detonation-induced forward movement of the piston shifts the bolt-follower to an unlocking position. Actuating linkage is provided for transmitting bolt movement to the loading mechanisms of the firearm.
