A radially displaceable locking top is disposed in the final region of the inner tube piece, which can be inserted into the outer tube piece, while a circumferential catching groove is arranged on the inside of the final region of the outer tube piece. The locking top is composed of several parts that are embodied like sectors of a circle and are joined so as to form a ring while the locking cap extends past the final region of the inner tube piece by means of a locking bulb. An expanding cone for the locking top is placed in side the inner tube piece across from the catching groove for the locking bulb, said expanding cone being movable to a limited extent in an axial direction and being fixed at the end of a positioning rod.

摘要： A shark deterrent device is disclosed. The device comprises at least two hollow cylindrical shafts, a tip, a twist-release mechanism, and at least one self-lock mechanism. The tip may be replaceable. The shark deterrent device is a retractable unit that is easy for a diver to carry and stow, and yet can be extended in order to deter a shark. The device is unlocked from its retracted position by twisting a collar, thereby unlocking the concentric shafts and allowing the unit to be fully extendable by hand. Once the unit is fully extended, a self-lock mechanism lock the unit to prevent it from retracting during use. The unit has a handle formed at one end of the outermost cylindrical shaft and a tip at the opposing end of the innermost cylindrical shaft. The tip may be replaceable and removed, and other useful tips may be attached.

摘要： An elongated generally cylindrical body of rigid plastics material has a handle portion and an outer portion and defines a longitudinally extending internal bore or chamber. An elongated rod is supported within the chamber for longitudinal movement and has an outer end portion projecting into an enlarged portion of the chamber. In one embodiment, a fifth wheel release actuator is removably connected to the outer end portion of the rod, and the rod supports the actuator for movement between a retracted position within the chamber and an extended position projecting outwardly from the body where the inner end portion of the rod threadably connects with the body. The actuater includes a pivotal hook-like plate which may be repositioned to provide for pushing or pulling of the fifth wheel release handle. In a modification, the chamber confines a pressurized tear gas canister or container which is shifted axially for dispensing the gas in response to axial movement of the rod within the chamber.

摘要： A knock down spring whip assembly including a hollow housing which serves as a handgrip, and also stores a spring subassembly formed of lengths of helically wound springs of sequentially increasingly larger diameter size to move between a telescoped position within the housing and an extended whipping position projecting from one end of the housing with the springs wedgingly engaging each other in an end to end arrangement. A removable closure unit is provided for plugging the other end of the housing to define a storage compartment. The closure unit includes an integral magnet for retaining the spring subassembly in the telescoped position, where the closure unit can be replaced with other types of closure units. The housing includes a tapered end and an annular constriction for providing both a wedging engagement of the projecting springs as well as a positive locking action. Weighted ball bearings can be included within one of the springs for spiral rotation therethrough to provide an additional striking force. The striking spring can be replaced by a solid rod for an increased striking force. Preferably, the tip portion at the striking end is also removable to permit the spring whip assembly to be disassembled into its component parts.
