The limb may be adjusted laterally and may be rotated around its length to manipulate the position of the distal end of the limb with respect to the riser. The limb may be rotated by posts extending from the limb or limb bolt. The limb may also be rotated by posts or shims positioned in an adjustable dowel installed in the riser or by shims installed in the limb between the limb and the riser.

    摘要: A twin limb bow with adjustable twin limbs and a rotatably mounted hand grip. More specifically, the invention is a compound bow that has a pair of rotatable bow limbs which are rotated when the bowstring is pulled and thereby force a pair of cantilever members to bend and store energy that can be used to project an arrow. The amount of energy stored in the cantilever members and the tension in the bowstring can be varied by adjusting the rest position of the cantilever member. In addition, the twin limb bow of the present invention has means provided which both prevent overdrawing of the bow and offer an infinitely variable let-off. The present invention also includes a forwardly mounted hand grip assembly with a rotatably mounted hand grip which can be slid forward or backward in relation to the bow to create a variety of different draw lengths. The hand grip allows rotation about two axes which prevents torque from being placed on the bow during cocking, thereby preventing a distortion in shooting accuracy. The two bow limbs are synchronized by a timing cable which runs through a channel in the frame of the riser.

The bushing can include a cylinder (116) which is adapted to be received in an aperture (71) of the bow limb. The bushing can include a vertically disposed flange (118) which is adapted to be received in a slot (70) in the bow limb. The bushing includes a first hole which extends vertically through the bushing, the first hole being adapted to receive a fastener (140) for adjustably securing the bow limb to the bow riser. Preferably, the first hole comprises a bore having an elliptical cross section. A major axis of the first hole is adapted to be aligned with a longitudinal axis of the bow limb. A second hole (160) can extend transversely through the bushing and communicate with the first hole. A set screw (162) can be threaded into the second hole so that the set screw adjustably bears against the fastener to retain the fastener in an adjusted position in the first hole.

    摘要: A core of composite structures is employed as a vibration absorbing section of an archery bow comprising ordinarily two relatively hard but flexible elongated members made of for instance, maple wood, beech wood, bamboo, or a resilient synthetic resin reinforced with glassfibers and a resilient sheet member made of, for instance, rubber or a synthetic resin such as ABS resin interposed between said two elongated members in a manner to extend in a lengthwise direction thereof, all of said members are bonded together to form one composite structure having a configuration generally flat and of rhombic or triangular form with a maximum thickness at an intermediate portion thereof and gradually reduced thickness toward both ends thereof. The composite structures are positioned between the handle and a bow limb so as to absorb vibrations developed in a bow limb.

    摘要: An archery bow includes pivoting limb pockets for attaching two split limbs or a single limb to the bow handle. The limb pockets are secured to the handle by an adjustment bolt. Circular mating portions on the pocket and handle permit rotation of the pocket about the handle. A slug which is press-fitted in the handle provides lateral stability between the pocket and handle. The front wall of the pocket prevents limb movement in the axial direction and the top surface of the pocket limits upward movement.

    摘要: An archery bow includes an elongated riser having an upper beam, a lower beam and an intermediate handle support. The riser defines a vertical axis of symmetry extending through the upper beam, lower beam and handle support. The riser is symmetrical about the axis of symmetry to define mirror image portions. A pair of limb pocket assemblies are securable to the upper and lower beams of the riser from either side with respect to the axis of symmetry. A handle grip or handle together with an overdraw guard and arrow rest are securable to either side of the riser in mirror image attachments. A cable guard constructed in accordance with conventional fabrication techniques is securable to the riser so as to extend from either side of the riser with respect to the access of symmetry. The limb pocket assemblies, handle, overdraw guard, arrow rest, and cable guard are attachable to the riser from either side with respect to the axis of symmetry to facilitate configuration of the resulting archery bow for use by either right-handed or left-handed archers.
