摘要： A launching device for launching a sports shooting target made of a biodegradable material includes a launching head configured such that a hub portion of the target can be positioned on the launching head. The launching head includes a plurality of pivotally mounted retaining, claw members that are configured to be able to pivot between a first state, in which the claw members retain the hub portion of the target to the launching head and a second state, in which the claw members release the hub portion of the target from the launching head, where the device is provided with a longitudinally displaceable shaft or rod that is functionally connected to the claw members such that a longitudinal displacement (B, D) of the shaft results in said pivotal movement of the claw members. Launching head rotating means is configured to rotate the launching head and to accelerate the launching head from substantially zero rotational speed to a maximum rotational speed, at which maximum rotational speed of the launching head, the hub portion of the target is released from the launching head.

摘要： A target throwing device, particularly for throwing two frangible targets, such as “clay targets”, comprises a magazine for holding targets having a circular top portion and a depending wall portion, an essentially planar throwing plate, and an elevator for moving targets from the magazine onto the throwing plate. A throwing arm is mounted above the throwing plate for moving the targets from first positions to second positions and for subsequently throwing the targets when in the second positions. A positioning element is protruding upwardly from the throwing plate within the wall portion of an inner target when it is lowered onto the throwing plate so as to impart to the target a movement in a direction from an outer target during movement of the targets from the first to the second positions. The targets are thereby less prone to breaking and more accurate target trajectories are achieved.

摘要： There is a machine for launching clay shooting targets. The machine comprises a target storage magazine, a delivery plate adjacent the base of said magazine and a user controllable delivery mechanism adapted to unload either one or a pair of said targets from the magazine onto the plane of the delivery plate. There is a throwing arm adapted upon release to move across the delivery plate from a cocked position behind the targets to a discharged position so that the targets are catapulted into the air from the delivery plate. The leading edge of the throwing arm is curved so as to be in contact with or sufficiently closely adjacent the targets when in the cocked position to avoid target breakage upon release and also provide close flight trajectories for said pair of targets.

摘要： A target projector for projecting a disc-like target adapted for operation by electric power, the projector includes a base with a drive shaft rotatably mounted thereon, an electric motor is operatively connected to the drive shaft to rotate same, a throwing arm has an inner end and an outer end portion and is connected to the drive shaft for rotation therewith, a target magazine is positioned adjacent and above the inner end portion of the throwing arm, said magazine being adapted to hold a stack of disc-like targets. A mechanism is provided for depositing targets one at a time from the target magazine into the inner end portion of the throwing arm and then retaining the target therein, and an electrical switch and control components are adapted for connection to an electrical power source for controlling the power to the electric motor and the mechanism for depositing targets one at a time in the inner end portion of the throwing arm and then retaining the target therein, whereby the electric motor is energized to rotate the drive shaft and the throwing arm connected thereto, a single target is deposited and retained in the inner end portion of the throwing arm and then after a timed period the target is freed and then projected outwardly from the throwing arm by centrifugal force.
