In order that all projectiles of a*waffe*Bug projectile type have the same point of impact, i.e., the same projectile weight, the same center of gravity and the same geometry, and that the marksman can set the fragmentation behavior solely by selecting the projectile, fragmenting projectiles having defined fragmentation in steps for the same point of impact, designed as two projectile types, namely as partially fragmenting projectiles or as jacketed projectiles, are proposed, wherein all fragmenting projectiles of a projectile type have the same projectile weight, the same center of gravity, and the same geometry, a fragmentable core is arranged in the front nose region for both projectile types, all fragmentable cores of a projectile type have the same density and differ from each other in the weight of the fragmentable core depending on the fragmentation, and all projectiles of a projectile type having the same weight of the fragmentable core have an identical marking that can be seen or felt from the outside.

    摘要: The invention relates to a Pb-free deforming/partially fragmenting projectile with a projectile body. In order to improve the killing effect of the projectile, the projectile has a fragmenting core according to the invention. The projectile body is equipped with a bore which is arranged on the longitudinal axis, extends from the tip of the projectile body, and extends into the interior, and the projectile body tip, which faces away from the projectile base has a bevel which extends from the outer circumference of the projectile body to the bore and runs at an acute angle to the longitudinal axis. The fragmenting core has a cylindrical part and a head part. The cylindrical part is arranged in the bore, and the head part protrudes out of the bore and has a support surface which is adapted to the bevel in the projectile body and together with the support surface rests on the bevel of the projectile body. The head part has a rounded tip which forms the tip of the projectile.

Multiple sections of the interface are deformed by being compressed radially inwardly into respective annular recesses formed between the interface and the head and tail during manufacturing or by rifling when the projectile is fired. The amount of deformation is controlled by the depth of each of the annular recesses. In all embodiments, annular ridges formed in the head, the tail, or both, define the longitudinal extent of the annular recesses. The interface includes an annular obturation region and has a beveled open leading end to facilitate insertion of the head and tail into the interface.

    摘要: A frangible projectile, and weapon cartridge containing same, is provided, in which the frangible projectile is comprised of a hollow outer body composed of, for example, a plastic or polymeric material, configured to provide a payload material. Preferably, the hollow outer body has an interior surface having a divider formed or disposed therein, for controlling the movement of the payload material after firing. The hollow outer body of the frangible projectile, upon impact, rapidly fragments upon impact into relatively harmless pieces, and releases/mixes the payload material. However, the payload material may be chosen to provide sufficient mass, and accordingly sufficient kinetic energy, to provide desired target effects, such as powder metals. Alternatively, payload materials, such as reactive chemical components, marking agents, chemiluminescent compositions, incapacitants, multi component reactive compositions, etc., preferably contained within one or more payload containers, are provided.
