    摘要: A size adaptive base for holding micrometers used in measuring screw threads modifies the vice jaw section of the base pedestal unit of the thread measuring apparatus to accommodate a variety of micrometer sizes. The pedestal includes a two-part vice with separate jaw. The resting ledge for the micrometer frame edge is placed on the pedestal to accommodate a 2″-3″ micrometer, the largest of the three sizes. The jaw with clamping screw locks the micrometer at the proper angle and position with the anvil over the well center. For the two smaller micrometers, an insert spacer is used between the pedestal ledge and the edge of the micrometer frame to lift up these smaller instruments at the proper position with the anvil at the well center. The same separate locking jaw is sized to accommodate all three sizes of micrometer.

    摘要: The invention is a gauge and method for measuring any circular object, but is most useful as a precision thread gauge for objects having either external or internal threads. A fixed gauge roll is supported in a stationary position. A first and second gauge rolls are supported so that the first and second gauge rolls simultaneously move with respect to the fixed gauge roll. The fixed gauge roll, first and second gauge roll together form a triangle. The interior angles of the triangle remain unchanged for every position of the three gauge rolls.

    摘要: The thread gauge permits the user to determine the pitch diameter of tapered threads at the intersection of the pitch cone and the end face of the object being measured. A pair of opposed anvils having lines of threads which match the configuration and taper of the threads on the part being measured are brought into meshing engagement with the threads on opposite sides of the part. The anvils are located linearly into their proper positions by stop fingers on the anvils that are brought into abutting engagement with the end face of the part. This places predetermined reference points of the pitch cone of the thread anvils in registration with corresponding points on the end face of the part being measured, resulting in an accurate determination of the pitch diameter at that location. The thread anvils can be arranged for measuring either internal or external threads.

    摘要: A device is shown for measuring the minor diameter of a screw thread. The device includes a frame and an adjustable indicator blade which moves in a vertical plane for engaging a thread root of a screw arranged on the frame transverse to the adjustable blade. A pair of laterally moveable blades are mounted on the frame oppositely to the adjustable blade for holding a screw therebetween. Each of the laterally moveable blades has a blade point which engages a thread root of the screw at spaced locations along the longitudinal axis of the screw. An indicator is provided for determining the relative distance between the adjustable blade and the blade points of the laterally moveable blades when a screw is held therebetween.

    摘要: The invention relates to a screw thread gage having two or three thread-gaging elements, preferably rolls, and includes an aligner having an arcuate surface bearing screw thread means. The aligner is pivotally mounted at one end thereof adjacent to one of the gaging elements. The aligner assures that there will be no cross threading. For a test part having an external thread, the test part is laid in the threaded arcuate surface whereupon the aligner and test part are pivoted into gaging position between the gaging elements. For a test part having an internal thread the gaging elements are contracted and inserted in the test thread and the aligner is pivoted into engagement with the test thread whereupon the gaging elements are expanded into contact with the test thread with the aligner engaging the thread. The aligner may also serve as a part of a back stop in a two-element gage for retaining the test part in gaging position.
