    摘要: The present invention relates to a dry magnetic compass having a self-contained, vertically oriented card specially suited, for example, for mounting on an airplane instrument panel. Because of the vertical display, the entire compass card can be seen in the correct position relative to the line of flight. The device includes a non-ferrous housing having a transparent face, a compass card in the vertical plane within the housing fully viewable through the transparent face, the compass card being journalled in the housing to rotate about a central axis perpendicular to the card, a magnet means journalled for rotation about a vertical axis within the housing, and gearing for translating rotative movement of the magnet means to the compass card. Rather than conventional fluid damping, the compass of the present invention is damped by utilization of eddy current effect.

    摘要: An arrangement for indicating a relative azimuth between two objects remote from each other, such as a control station and a mobile unit remotely controlled by the station, on which are respectively mounted first and second synchronous transmitters for generating and transmitting their respective signals corresponding respectively to true azimuths of the station and the unit. The control station is further provided with a relative azimuth indicating device including outer stational and inner rotatable dials, a rotatable indicator, first and second synchronous receivers, each having means for effecting rotation by receiving one of the signals corresponding thereto, and means for transmitting the respective rotations of the receivers to the inner dial and the indicator, respectively. Thus, not only the relative azimuth between the control station and the mobile unit but also their respective true azimuths are simultaneously read on the device at a glance by a controller in the correlation of the outer and inner dials and the indicator.

    摘要: Embodiments of the inventive display device for indicating of azimuthal and other information are provided, comprising at least one preferably circular configuration of light emitting elements, control unit, magnetic sensor. An imaginable straight line, extending from the device display's center to an actuated element, determines azimuthal direction. One uniquely shaped element is actuated when the device is oriented towards the north magnetic pole by said imaginable line extending through said unique element. When the device's orientation changes, said unique element is de-actuated. A user, by regulating means, may preset a desirable direction by actuating an element coincided with the direction. The device is capable to “remember” the direction; when its orientation changes, another element is actuated, still showing the desirable direction. Some embodiments of the device may exhibit timepiece, calendar, temperature and other information. Azimuthal information may be displayed in a predetermined color position order of the light emitting elements.
