Abstract:
An enclosing device includes an envelope conveyance path, an envelope loader, an envelope-position restrictor, and an envelope-position adjuster. The envelope conveyance path conveys an envelope to an enclosing position at which an enclosure is enclosed into the envelope. The envelope loader loads the envelope to be supplied to the envelope conveyance path. The envelope-position restrictor restricts a loaded position of the envelope in the envelope loader. The envelope-position adjuster adjusts a position of the envelope with respect to a conveyance direction of the envelope while maintaining a state in which the envelope-position restrictor restricts the loaded position of the envelope.
Abstract:
A fixing device includes a hardness adjusting unit to adjust hardness of an outer circumferential surface of a fixing belt at a nip. When a sheet to be passed through the nip is an envelope, and the envelope is passed through the nip by side-flap sheet passing for feeding the sheet so that a fold line between an envelope body and a flap extends in a sheet passing direction through the nip, the hardness adjusting unit brings the outer circumferential surface of the fixing belt at the nip during passage of the sheet into a softer state than when the sheet is a plain sheet.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a fixing device that includes a pressing unit and a heating unit provided facing the pressing unit, an image-forming-apparatus body in which the fixing device is housed and to and from which the fixing device is attachable and detachable, a fixing-device-attachment-detachment-detecting member that detects attachment or detachment of the fixing device to or from the image-forming-apparatus body, and a controller that controls, if the fixing-device-attachment-detachment-detecting member detects the detachment of the fixing device from the image-forming-apparatus body, the image-forming-apparatus body to take a position where the pressing unit and the heating unit are to be pressed against each other.
Abstract:
An image forming system includes an SSP unit (sorting guide portion and envelope chuck portion) that functions as an enclosing unit or an enclosing device to enclose, in envelopes, paper on which an image is formed by a copy machine functioning as an image forming device, a weight measuring device that includes a load cell to measure the weight of the paper-enclosed envelopes, and a sorting device that sorts the paper-enclosed envelopes, on the basis of weight data of each of the paper-enclosed envelopes of which the weight is measured by the weight measuring device.
Abstract:
When fixing images onto normal sheets of paper, the pressing force between a pressing roller and a thermal roller of a fixing unit is designated by the urging force of only a first spring. On the other hand, when fixing images onto thick sheets, the pressing force is designated by the urging force of the first spring and the urging force of a second spring, which operates against the urging force of the first spring.
Abstract:
A sheet feeding apparatus has a plurality of sheet containers, a plurality of sheet feeding units and a plurality of curving conveying routes for guiding the sheets to a common conveying route. One of the sheet containers is adapted to hold envelopes and other sheets of high rigidity, and the sheet feeding apparatus is constructed such that a radius of curvature of the curving conveying route for the envelope and other sheets of high rigidity is made larger than a radius of curvature of a second curving portion of another conveying route.
Abstract:
A liquid electrophotographic development sheet wherein a polyethylene resin or a resin including polyethylene such as a polyethylene ionomer as a main component is present on at least one of the surfaces of a substrate sheet is provided. The development sheet can find wide application such as a newspaper, a magazine, a commercial publication, various publications, a poster, a postcard and an envelope, due to its excellent transfer-fixing property.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an image fixing apparatus which comprises a heater for generating heat upon receiving electric power supply thereto, a film movable with an unfixed image on a recording material while being in contact with said heater, a backup roller for forming a nip with said heater, with said film being interposed in the nip, and fixing condition setting means for setting an image fixing condition according to a size of the recording material conveyed to the nip in a preceding image fixing operation and a size of the recording material conveyed to the nip in the current image fixing operation.
Abstract:
Envelopes (9) are fed flap first and flap closed long dimension first into the nip of fixing rollers (3,4). The fixing rollers are less wide than the envelopes, and the printing system does not print on the edge of the envelope which is not fixed. Since this adds very little to the apparatus and software, wrinkle-free envelope printing is achieved at very low initial and overall cost.
Abstract:
A discharge device is usable for an image forming apparatus including a fixing portion having a heating roller in the shape of a hyperboloid for fixing a toner image formed on an envelope having a turned-up portion, and a stacking portion for stacking envelopes. The discharge device provided with a discharge roller system provided between the fixing portion and the stacking portion to discharge the envelope to the stacking portion has a upright portion provided near the discharge roller system below the transport path of the envelope to prevent the turned-up portion of the envelope from warping downward. This discharge device prevents a discharging envelope from coming into contact or colliding with the uppermost one of a stack of already discharged envelopes on the stacking portion, and enables the envelopes to be discharged suitably and to be stacked orderly on the stacking portion and increases an amount of envelopes stacked on the stacking portion.
