摘要: A sample counter in each channel performs counting operation at a given rate. Independently for each channel, the rate and an initial value for the counter are set, and start and stop of the counting operation of the counter are controlled, so that a partial portion of an original waveform corresponding to a count range from the set initial value to a count stop point is reproduced in the channel. A control section sets the initial values in individual ones of a set of channels, selected from among the channels, such that sample values at different sample positions of the original waveform are simultaneously retrieved in individual ones of the set of channels, and controls an overlap adder to add up the retrieved sample values, so that sample values of an audio waveform signal with a plurality of partial portions of the original waveform, partially overlapping each other are output.

摘要: Apparatus and method for reproducing a MIDI file are provided. In the apparatus and the method, notes and note reproduction times are extracted from the MIDI file and a difference between a start point and an end point in a Loop section of relevant sound source data according to the note reproduction time is detected and stored. The above stored difference between the start point and end point of the sound source data which will be reproduced is compensated and outputted, so that sound quality distortion in the Loop section is eliminated or reduced.

摘要: Apparatus for simultaneously decompressing and interpolating compressed audio data. The compressed audio data is stored in differential log format, meaning that the difference between each two consecutive data points is taken and the log of the difference calculated to form each compressed data point. To efficiently decompress and interpolate the compressed data, advantage is taken of the fact that addition of logs is equivalent to multiplication of linear values. Thus the log of an interpolation factor is added to each compressed data point prior to taking the inverse log of the sum. An integrator block completes the interpolation and decompression of the data.

摘要: A circuit for adding a resonance tone to a tone signal to be generated is provided. When a damper operator is not operated, the resonance tone is not added but an ordinary tone signal is generated. When the damper operator has been operated, the resonance tone is added so that a tone signal including the resonance tone is generated. An effect of a damper operator, i.e., loud pedal, in a piano, a natural musical instrument, is thereby simulated with high fidelity. The resonance tone may be produced by passing an ordinary tone signal through a filter. Alternatively, data obtained by sampling an actually produced tone of a piano, a natural musical instrument, when a damper operator, i.e., loud pedal, is ON may be stored in a memory and a resonance tone may be generated by reading out the stored data from the memory. The signal of the generated resonance tone may be sounded by itself or after mixing with an ordinary tone signal at a suitable mixing ratio. In addition to the imparting of the resonance tone, a known control for switching of a decay rate of a tone volume envelope may be performed.

摘要: A musical sound generating device has a waveform memory to store musical sound waveform data to be read-out repeatedly between a loop-top address (integral address) and a loop-end address (integral address). The same musical sound waveform data is stored at the loop-top address and the loop-end address. An address computing circuit computes a read-out address, including a decimal part, to repeatedly read out the musical sound waveform data stored between the loop-top address and the loop-end address in the waveform memory. An interpolating circuit carries out interpolation if the read-out address generated by the address computing circuit includes a decimal part. Interpolation is carried out by dividing in proportion the musical sound waveform data read out from the waveform memory using an integral part of the read-out address and the musical sound waveform data read out from the waveform memory using a value obtained by adding 1 to the integral part of the read-out address according to the decimal part.

摘要: A device for reading sound waveform data has a waveform ROM for storing waveform data represented as an amplitude in a time series. Sound waveform data is repeatedly read from the waveform ROM. The reading of a single waveform corresponds to a single period. A scale ROM stores a plurality of frequency dividing ratios. A programmable counter divides a signal having a predetermined frequency in correspondence with a frequency dividing ratio output by the scale ROM and outputing a clock pulse. A counter counts the clock pulses and indicates the addresses of the waveform ROM. The scale ROM changes the frequency dividing ratio data during an arbitrary divided period of intervals in the period for reading the waveform data. During the period for reading the waveform by the counters, the sound waveform read out has a single frequency and accordingly a single period. The waveform reading period is divided into m number of intervals. A particular kth divided period interval between 0 and m is adjusted to a longer or shorter interval than the remaining m-1 period intervals to allow fine adjustment of an average period improving overall period resolution capabilities.

摘要: An address signal generation circuit generates an address signal which changes at a rate corresponding to tone pitch of a tone to be generated. This address signal consists of an integer section and a decimal section. A tone waveshape data generation circuit generates tone waveshape sampled data in response to the integer section of the address signal. A filter coefficient supply circuit can generate data corresponding to filter coefficients of m orders and selects and supplies n filter coefficients (where n

摘要: An electroic musical instrument of the present invention is provided with a damper control as well as tone generation instructin device and tone generation device. While the damper control is operated, the tone generation device continues tone generation even if the stop thereof is instructed by the tone generation instruction device. Moreover there is provided pitch control device adapted to change the pitch of the tone currently generated while the damper control is operated.Accordingly, when the damper control is operated, the resulting musical tones can be enhanced in their variety, distinct from normal tone generation. This allows an electronic musical instrument, for example, to generate such sounds as when the damper pedal is stamped with a piano.

摘要: The position of a connecting portion between waveforms can be arbitrarily set when a plurality of waveform data is obtained by changing pitch widths of stored external sound waveform data, when a read rate of the waveform data is increased or decreased and the readout waveform data is synthesized, or when the waveform is changed from one waveform to another waveform. In addition, a plurality of loop reproduction cycles can be arbitrarily set when the waveform data is to be read out. In loop reproduction, two items of waveform data having different phases between the preset start and end addresses can be repeatedly read out and synthesized, and their mixing ratios can be changed as a function of time, thereby performing loop reproduction so as not to abruptly change amplitude values of the waveforms.
