    摘要: The invention provides an electromagnetic relay excellent in insulating property and high in opening and closing characteristics and productivity. Therefore, a pair of pedestal portions for coil terminals are arranged in the outer circumferential edge portion of the lower flange portion of a spool. A coil drawing-out groove continuously connected to the upper face of the above pedestal portion for a coil terminal is formed along the outer circumferential edge portion of the above lower flange portion. A storing concave portion able to store a shading coil attached to a magnetic pole portion of an iron core projected from a central hole of the above spool is formed on the lower face of the above lower flange portion.

The armature and magnetic core are of laminated magnetic steel and have mating surfaces. At least one of the armature and magnetic core includes conductive weld or braze lines for integrally securing laminations together to define a conductive path proximate the mating surface to provide a shading coil.

    摘要: An improved electromagnetic apparatus includes a core and an armature which is movable relative to the core. A shading ring is connected with the core to provide magnetic flux which is out of phase with magnetic flux from the core. The shading ring includes a base formed a first metal and a layer of a second metal clad to the base. The first metal forming the base work hardens and has a greater resistance to fatigue failure induced by vibration than the second metal of the layer which is clad to the base. However, the second metal forming the clad layer has a greater electrical conductivity than the first metal of the base. The base may be formed of aluminum and the layer of metal clad to the base may be formed of copper. The layer of copper may be clad to the base by an extrusion process.

    摘要: A contactor assembly comprises an arc chute having side walls, an intermediate wall and legs extending from the latter. A stationary electromagnet assembly is supported by a metallic support member, i.e. base plate, whose sidearms are secured to the bottom of the legs. Pole shader rings are nested in the arms of the magnet assembly. Portions of the pole shaders extending transversely from the magnet legs are clamped against platforms on the sidewalls of the arc chute by the spring force exerted by the base plate. An armature is secured to a moveable contact carrier that carries a spring biased contact bridge. The wear allowance of the contact carrier can be readily controlled by machining the platforms to the correct height. This is accomplished prior to installation of the electromagnet assembly by exerting a force directly against the contact bridges to close them against the stationary contacts. The platforms are then machined to a predetermined depth from the pole face of the armature. This minimizes tolerance buildups that adversely modify the distance of movement of the moveable contact carrier.
