The video-conference table includes an imaging device disposed outside facing space that faces an object to be captured on a holding surface. The imaging device is configured to capture the object to be captured held on the holding surface, in a slanting direction with reference to a normal-line direction of the holding surface. The video-conference table further includes an image processing device configured to perform image processing including correcting image data obtained by capturing of the imaging device to image data obtained when the surface of the object to be captured is captured in a normal-line direction of the holding surface. The video-conference system includes the video-conference table coupled to an attachment having a surface approximately flush with the holding surface in a horizontal direction.

The method includes displaying a first image input through a first camera unit while participating in a video communication, transmitting the first image to a counterpart terminal, operating, if a second image is selected for transmission, a second camera unit, inputting a second image through the second camera unit, resizing the first image and the second image according to an image standard used for the video communication, displaying the resized first image and second image, and transmitting the resized first image and second image to the counterpart terminal. Thus, a user can view images for video communication input through more than one camera unit and transmit the images to a counterpart terminal during a video communication.

    摘要： The present invention is a security monitoring system which effectively monitors a large number of areas in a cost effective manner using already existing communications infrastructure. More specifically, the method and apparatus of the present invention warns at least one security post of an undesired condition at a monitored area by sending a fax of an image of the monitored area via a phone line and/or by sending an E-mail of a color image via a global telecommunications network such as the Internet. Generally, the present invention includes a camera for creating a first image of the monitored area at a first time point and for creating a second image of the monitored area at a second time point. In addition, a data storage device stores the first image and the second image, and an image processor, coupled to the data storage device, compares the first image with the second image. A modem, coupled to the image processor, sends a fax of the second image to the at least one security post if the second image is substantially different from the first image. The present invention may further send via the modem a JPEG color image of the second image as an electronic mail to a predetermined security post if the second image is substantially different from the first image.

    摘要： A method and system are provided for delivering video from a server to a client over a communication medium with a limited bandwidth. An initial image quality that allows the video to be displayed in real time at the client is determined based on a predetermined frame rate and the limited bandwidth. Video having the initial image quality is transmitted to the client. The client sends to the server a snapshot request that specifies both an image in the video and a destination. In response to the request, the server generates a digital representation of the image that has a higher quality than the initial image quality. The server transmits the snapshot to the specified destination. The specified destination may be a destination other than the client, such as an image processing facility, thereby allowing the client to log off without waiting for delivery of the snapshot.
