The device of the present development is relatively small, can be used by one person unassisted, and does not require any particular mounting surface so it can be carried with the fisherman to any location where he is using his reel.

摘要： A device for supplying fishing line to a fish reeling device from a spool of bulk fishing line and measuring the length of line pulled from the spool by the reeling device. The bulk spool is supported for rotation about a horizontal axis at one end of a T-shaped supporting structure. The other crossed end of the structure carries a flat thin and relatively large diameter circumferentially grooved pulley supported for rotation about a horizontal axis parallel to the spool's axis of rotation. The crossed end also carries a mounting bracket for securing the location of the measuring device along and just off the edge of a flat table, convenient relative to the reeling device. The pulley is manually accessible around its entire periphery and has a shallow groove of semicircular cross section and an inner circumference of predetermined length at the bottom of the groove. A guide member having a line-encirclable manually line-threadable guide portion extends from the T-shaped structure between the spool and the pulley at the plane of the pulley for guiding line from the spool to tangentially enter the pulley groove which is manually accessible to enable line extending from the guide member to be manually wrapped once around the pulley in frictional contact in said groove with the line extending further to the reeling device to drive the pulley when the line is pulled during reeling. Line length is indicated by a counter registering pulley revolutions each of which equals one foot.

摘要： A fishing reel winding and unwinding device by which the line supply spool (or storage spool) is supported on a universal positioning turn table relative to a fishing reel secured to a reel support. The spool shaft is supported on an upright crank shaft and spool holder on a turn table, and the spool shaft is equipped with a crankshaft component for rotating an empty line supply spool thereon as during winding or unwinding a fishing reel. The spool shaft turn table is attached to the turret plate by a screw permitting swivel at 90-degree intervals for diversified winding or unwinding of reels with either left or right hand and either spin, fly or conventional line/reel applications without twisting the line out, but instead, retaining the natural manufactured characteristics of the line in use and in line storage.

摘要： Apparatus for winding a fishing line or the like onto or off from a variety of fishing reels, including a pair of reel holders positioned on opposite sides of the reel with one of the holders being rotatably driven as by a motor. One of the reel holders includes a support face that bears against an end of the reel, an axial hole in the holder, a centering shaft with a tapered face slideably mounted in the hole, and a spring that urges the tapered face of the shaft towards the reel to enter a central hole in the reel and thereby center the reel on the axis of rotation of the reel holder. One of the reel holders is in the shape of a spool with a tapered line-receiving axle and with a removable spool end at the narrowest end of the axle, so that line wound onto the tapered axle can be easily removed. Reels with bases are held on a frame with a cam-operated clamping bracket.

The fixture provides a novel arrangement including an extensible support shaft means for providing for the mounting of either a single supply spool or a plurality of supply spools of fishing line on the fixture, and with the extensible portion of the spool support shaft means being adapted to be stored in coupled relation to the fixture body when the shaft extensible portion is not being utilized as a spool support. Adjustable braking means is provided for applying a frictional drag to the supply spool during the transferring process of winding the fishing line from the spool onto the fishing rod reel.
