    摘要: The invention relates to an assembly for storing lengths of cables, chains, or conduits wound on a spool. The assembly has a stationary portion that supports a motor and a removable portion that supports a spool for receiving a length of a cable, chain or conduit. The motor is operationally connected to a sprocket wheel, which forms a part of the stationary portion, and when the sprocket wheel is moved into engagement with the chain fitted on the spool, the rotating force is transmitted to the spool, allowing winding of the cable, chain or conduit thereon. Any number of removable portions can be used for winding of a predetermined length of cables, chains, or conduits using the same stationary portion.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a system for sensing and correcting the alignment of a mandrel being wound with filamentary material with respect to the filamentary material winding mechanism. A positioned reference pin attached to the mandrel is positioned in a beam of collimated light emanating from a laser so as to bisect the light beam and create a shadow therebetween. A pair of photocells are positioned to receive the bisected light beam with the shadow uniformly located between the photocells when the pin is in a selected position. The mandrel is supported in the selected position for the winding of a filamentary material by a position adjustable roller mechanism which is coupled by a screw drive to a reversible motor. Changes in the pin position such as caused by winding growth are sensed by the photocells to provide the displacement of the roller mechanism in the direction necessary to return the mandrel to the selected position.

    摘要: A cable winding machine movable on a bedding (2) and having two vertical support members (1) interconnected by an extensible cross bar (14). The support members carry spindles (3) for supporting a cable reel (4). Each of the spindles is displaceable along its support member (1). The cable reel (4) rests on a pallet (7), except during a cable reeling or unreeling process. Lifting members (9) project at the lower part of at least one of the support members (1) for carrying the pallet (7) at the same time as the cable reel (4) is carried by the spindles (3). The lifting members (9) are resiliently suspended and assume a lower position when they are loaded by a pallet (7) with a reel (4) and assume an upper position when they are loaded with only a pallet (7). In the upper position of the lifting members (9), the pallet (7) is lifted up from the bedding (2) in order not to obstruct the movement of the cable winding machine on the bedding (2).

    摘要: Reel lifting apparatus utilizing a truck-like vehicle having a wheeled framework with a subframe mounted on the framework. A truck bed body is mounted upon the subframe and overlies the subframe. An elongate rod-like member is provided which is pivotally mounted on the body so that it extends in a direction at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. First and second arms are mounted in fixed spaced apart positions on the rod-like member. The arms are formed so that they are capable of carrying a reel mounted upon a spindle. A plate is secured to the rod-like member. An L-shaped member has one end of the same pivotally connected to the subframe and the other end pivotally connected to the plate. An actuator is pivotaly connected to the subframe and to the L-shaped member at a point intermediate the ends of the L-shaped member for causing the movement of the arms through an angle in excess of 135.degree.. An in-line motor drive train is mounted upon one of the arms. Means is provided for connecting the drive train to the reel so that the reel can be driven.

    摘要: A pair of transversely aligned arbors are rotatably cantilevered at opposite ends of a vertically disposed rotatable turret. Each arbor is provided with a plurality of internally floating, camoperated mechanisms for locking a take-up reel thereon. Independent drive mechanisms drive the reels separately at varying speeds. A snagger device is cantedly mounted on the cantilevered end of each arbor for rotation therewith and extends a radial distance slightly greater than the adjacent flange of the reel thereon to oscillate between two points coplanar with respect to the inner and outer surfaces of the flange, respectively. A distributor adjacent to one of the reels actively taking up the strand is provided with a reversible drive screw for driving a traversable strand guide controlled alternately by a stationary limit switch adjacent to the reel flange associated with the snagger and a rectilinearly movable limit switch mounted on a second drive screw and normally positioned adjacent to the opposite reel flange. Prior to cutover from a full reel to an empty reel, when a footage counter indicates that a length of strand approximating one layer of convolutions thereof remains to be taken up: (a) the turret is rotated 180* to position an empty reel between the distributor and the nearly full reel; and the second drive screw is actuated to move the movable limit switch toward the stationary limit switch at the traverse speed of the strand guide. The limit switches continue to control the reversal of the first drive screw. When the remaining length of strand is taken up and the advancing strand is traveling close to the inside flange of the empty reel, the snagger associated therewith is thrust into the path of the strand to grip and sever its connection to the full reel and to commence winding thereof upon the empty reel. The full reel is replaced by an empty reel to await the next cutover operation.

Means, here shown as foot operated, is provided for releasing the frame, when desired, whereby it is lowered so that the bobbin again rest upon and is driven by the drum.
