    摘要: A striker assembly reduces a force of a latch required to latch and unlatch a side door over a door opening of a motor vehicle. The door opening includes a striker opening which is disposed adjacent the door opening. The striker assembly includes a frame fixedly secured to the motor vehicle over the striker opening. The base includes a base opening. A striker assembly also includes a striker slidably secured to the frame allowing the striker to move outboard during the unlatching of the side door and inboard during the latching of the side door.

    摘要: A motor-vehicle door latch has a latch element displaceable between a holding position bolt and a freeing position, and a pawl movable between a latched position retaining the latch element in the holding position and an unlatched position allowing the latch element to assume the freeing position. A release lever engageable with the pawl is movable between an actuated position displacing the pawl into the unlatched position and an unactuated position leaving the pawl in the latched position. A lock member has an abutment engageable in a locked position with the release lever for inhibiting movement of the release lever from the unactuated position into the actuated position and unengageable in an unlocked position with the release lever for permitting movement of the release lever from the unactuated position into the actuated position. An actuating lever coupled to the door handle is pivotal on actuation of a door unlocking member, e.g. an inside or outside handle. An elastically compressible link is engaged between the actuating lever and the release lever for, in the unlocked position of the lock means, transmitting movement from the actuating lever to the release lever and thereby permitting the actuating lever to operate the release lever and, in the locked position of the lock means, elastically deforming and permitting the actuating lever to move independently of the release lever and without displacing the release lever into the actuated position.

    摘要: The invention relates to a latch unit which includes a bolt, a housing for the bolt, guides for the bolt in the housing, a first spring for the bolt in the housing, the first spring urging the bolt in a forwards direction towards a holding position in which an end part of the bolt is outside the housing, and a slot arrangement for the bolt, the slot arrangement comprising a first part and a second part, the slot arrangement having an active condition in which the first part is engaged with the second part whereby to retain the bolt against movement in the said forwards direction, characterized by a second spring to hold the first and second parts in the active condition. It is a particular feature of the invention that the bolt has a holding position in which it can engage a keeper, a non-holding position in which it is disengaged from the keeper and a retained position in which it cannot engage the keeper and in which it is retained by the slot arrangement, the non-holding position being between the holding and retained positions. There is also provided a method of operating a latch unit according as herein defined.

A door latch 22 comprises a rotary bolt 50, a pivoted detent lever 56 engageable with ratchet teeth 54 to prevent rotation of the bolt in the unlatch direction, and a release lever 80 which is pivotally movable in one direction to contact the detent lever 56 and rotate it in boltfreeing direction and is pivotally movable in the other direction to engage the ratchet teeth 54 and prevent rotation of the bolt 50 in the unlatch direction. As shown, bolt 50 is a gearwheel the teeth of which act also as the ratchet teeth, and the detent and release levers are pivoted about a common fulcrum 58. The detent lever 56 is releasable from engagement with the ratchet teeth by a push-buttonoperated rod 30 and by a remote handleoperated bell-crank lever 68, movement of which in one direction about a pivot 70 causes a tab 84 on the lever 80 to free the lever 56 from the ratchet teeth 54 and movement of which in the other direction causes a tooth 82 on the lever 80 to engage the ratchet teeth and so lock the bolt against release by the push button. The push button incorporates a self-operated cylinder lock.
