摘要： A single web is printed in side-by-side relation with variable and non-variable information forming document and envelope web portions. The web is split longitudinally and the document web portion is cut to form discrete documents. Each document is folded about transverse foldlines to form a folded document and rotated 90.degree. for registration with matching envelope portions on the envelope web. Glue lines are applied to the envelope web. The envelope web is then plow-folded along both margins to form first and second flaps overlying and containing the document within the envelope portion of the envelope web. The glue lines are sealed to one another and excess envelope web material between adjacent envelopes is removed whereby envelopes containing documents sealed within the envelopes and forming mailers are provided.

摘要： A double envelope construction comprised of one envelope inside another envelope is formed in one pass on an envelope folding machine by providing a pre-cut envelope blank and a paper blank of smaller size than the envelope blank, adhering the paper blank to the envelope blank by means of fugitive adhesive, applying remoistenable seal gum to the flap portion of the envelope blank, drying the seal gum, and scoring the adhered together envelope and paper blanks at predetermined locations and folding the scored blanks while applying adhesive to predetermined areas thereof to form an outer envelope from the envelope blank and an inner envelope inside the outer envelope from the paper blank. The envelope blank or the paper blank, or both, may be preprinted prior to being fed to the envelope folding machine or may be printed by a printer in-line with the envelope folding machine.

摘要： The disclosure relates to the forming and printing of paper products, particularly paper products such as self-mailers, made from a moving web of paper which is printed on a continuous forms press and folded and glue sealed in one pass through a folder. The disclosed self-mailer includes a return order envelope. The self-mailer is printed on stock of a size and thickness to conform to postal regulations with both sides of the stock being printed, perforated on press to enable tear-off of the return portion of the self-mailer, scored to enable folding, and provided with a mailing window as a continuous form. Laser printing is used for subsequent application of an individual's name and address. The disclosure further relates to the provision of an additional panel separate from the self-mailer which is adapted to have the particulars of the addressee on the front side thereof, the reverse side of the additional panel is collated or plow folded and then glued to the reverse side of the first panel to form the pocket of a return envelope.

摘要： From a web of paper a mailing item (10) comprising envelope and contents is printed personalized on a first conveying section (2) in individual stations. After being turned over the web of paper is supplemented, where necessary, by further paper parts, it then being cut to contour laterally and provided with side flaps folded inwards for the envelope. After this, the cut-to-size item is parted as a unit from the web of paper by a cross-cutter (43) and the contents folded on themselves transversely as well as on the cut-to-size item for the envelope. This unit is then diverted at right angles to a second conveying section (3) in which the cover sheets of the envelope are folded open with interposition of the contents, the cover sheets thereby being secured to each other by the side flaps. After this, the envelope opening is closed by the closing flap.
