A system for assembling a novelty button having a magnet inserted between the back cover and the front plate includes a first rotary table of a non-ferrous material having one or more receiving cups. Each receiving cup is sized to receive one magnet from a vertical stack of magnets. A stationary, non-ferrous shearing removes a bottommost magnet from the stack when the first table rotates. A second rotary table made from a non-ferrous material having at least one non-ferrous lower die fixture receives a subassembly consisting of a back cover and a magnet arranged on interior face of the back cover. A modified button press having a non-ferrous upper die set crimps a front plate to the back cover.

The present invention relates to a button manufacturing device that is lightweight and robust, and that can be operated even at an unstable location and in a small space. A button manufacturing device comprises a base, a slide platform disposed on the base for reciprocating movement, first and second lower dies provided on both sides of the slide platform in the reciprocating directions, a press screw shaft capable of moving in the axial direction by screwing into a female screw section provided on a beam fixed to the upper part of struts, fixed on the base, an upper die provided on a lower end of the press screw shaft for joining to the first lower die or the second lower die, and an operating handle provided on an upper part of the press screw shaft.

A method and a device are for positioning and affixing magnets on a magnetic yoke member of an electric motor. The device includes: a nonmagnetic support for receiving the magnets, this support having a shape complementary to that of the magnetic yoke member on which the magnets are to be affixed; a magnetic element for holding the magnets in position on the nonmagnetic support, this element being arranged on the other side of the nonmagnetic support with respect to the magnets, the attraction exerted by this element on the magnets being greater than that exerted by the magnetic yoke member during the positioning of the device with respect to the yoke; a device for varying the magnetic forces present, whereby the magnetic attraction of the magnetic yoke member and/or the magnetic element on the magnets may be varied such that the magnetic force of attraction exerted by the yoke on the magnets becomes greater than that exerted by the magnetic element on them, thus provoking the transfer of the magnets to the yoke. The yoke member forms the magnetic path of a linear motor.
