    摘要: A tool position correcting device comprises a draw bar supported for axial movement in a central bore of a spindle of a machine tool, a tool holder supported for turning about an eccentric axis displaced from the axis of rotation of the spindle on the nose of the spindle, and a motion converting mechanism operatively interlocking the draw bar and the tool holder to convert the axial motion of the draw bar into the rotational motion of the eccentric rotary member. The spindle is provided with a tapered hole tapering backward in its front end, the tool holder has a tapered portion tapering backward and conforming with the tapered hole of the spindle and is held on the spindle with its tapered portion supported on balls in the tapered hole, and a spring is disposed between the spindle and the tool holder to bias the tool holder backward relative to the spindle so that the tapered portion is pressed through the balls against the tapered surface of the tapered hole so that the tool holder can be turned by a comparatively small torque when correcting the position of the cutting edge of the tool, and the composite fastening effect due to the tapered hole, the tapered portion and the spring provides a large force for holding the eccentric rotary member firmly on the spindle.

    摘要: In the known, adjustable, single-cutting-edge machine reamers having a turnable cutting plate, the adjusting and re-adjusting operations are awkward and associated with difficulties because, at least as far as adjusting is concerned, adjustments have to be made at two points, and moreover for adjusting to the set desired value it is generally necessary to proceed in a step-by-step manner, gradually working ones way up to the desired value. These problems are due to the fact that adjustment can in principle only be made in the forward direction, that is to say in the direction of increasing diameter, whereas reverse adjustment in the proper meaning of the term is not possible but can only be achieved indirectly by carrying out a new adjustment with a lower starting value and adjusting in a forward direction. These problems and other disadvantages of these reamers are eliminated by a new overall concept employing a turnable cutting plate (3) in the form of an equilateral polygon, said turnable cutting plate being adjustable by means of an adjustable stop and an fixed stop (15, 14) on the polygon-sides (45, 44) of the turnable cutting plate inclined toward each other and a securing screw (17) for the turnable cutting plate acting as a springy restoring element and hence also enabling reverse adjustment to be effected.

    摘要: A skiving tool having a retractable knife for use in combination with a roller burnishing tool for finishing the internal surface of a cylindrical hole. The retractable knife includes a pair of radially extendible knife holders defining a camming path having an axial portion and an angled portion. A push dart has a camming element with complementary camming surfaces which rides along the camming path. Axial actuation of the push dart causes the knife holders to extend radially into a stable, locked position. The roller burnishing tool includes a roller race having a central axis and a frustoconical outer surface tapering radially outward and axially forward. A plurality of frustoconically tapered rollers are arranged about the outer surface for rolling engagement with the outer surface with the smaller ends of the rollers facing forward. The taper of the rollers is such that the outermost surface portion of each roller is parallel to the central axis. The rollers are biased in the forward direction with a chosen force so that the force exerted on the internal surface of the hole remains constant over a range of sizes of the hole.
