Abstract:
In at least one form of the invention, a clamp can be used to attach a saw accessory to a saw. In various embodiments, the clamp can comprise first and second clamping members, an actuator, and a controller. In various embodiments, the saw accessory can be disposed between the first and second clamping members where at least one of the first and second clamping members can be moved by the actuator in order to clamp the saw accessory therebetween. In at least one such embodiment, the controller can be in electrical and/or fluid communication with the actuator to activate the actuator. In various embodiments, the controller can be activated by an operator from a location proximate to the operator but remote from a blade of the saw.
Abstract:
A method punches a damper out from a damper material that is detachably attached on a flexible exfoliative member through an attaching surface of the damper material with use of a hollow punch. The method includes steps of setting the damper material on a supporting surface, positioning a projection part between the exfoliative member and the supporting surface, and punching the damper out from the damper material by cutting the damper material around the projection part by the hollow punch without punching the exfoliative member.
Abstract:
Mounting systems to secure and index riving knives and spreaders in table saws are disclosed. One embodiment may include three mounts or screws attached to an elevation carriage. A clamp plate fits over the heads of the mounts and a handle pivots to move the clamp plate against flanges on the heads of the mounts to clamp a riving knife or spreader in place.
Abstract:
A power equipment in one embodiment includes a riving knife with a circular mounting hole opening to an outer surface of the riving knife through a throat, the throat having a minimum diameter that is less than a minimum diameter of the mounting hole, and an anti-kickback assembly including a generally cylindrical grooved shaft having a first diameter larger than a minimum diameter of the throat and a second diameter smaller than the minimum diameter of the throat, and an actuating arm operably connected to the grooved shaft and configured to rotate the grooved shaft from a first position whereat the second diameter is aligned with the throat and a second position whereat the second diameter is not aligned with the throat.
Abstract:
A table saw includes a workpiece support surface and a laser apparatus. The workpiece support surface defines a blade opening through which a cutting blade is configured to extend. The laser apparatus is configured to emit a laser light away from the workpiece support surface. A laser support element having an upper portion above the workpiece support surface and a lower portion below the workpiece support surface, and the laser apparatus is connected to the lower portion, and the reflective surface is positioned on the upper portion to reflect the laser light toward the support surface to visually indicate a position.
Abstract:
Table saws and table saws designed to implement safety systems that detect contact between a person and a dangerous portion of the saw are disclosed. Table saw components, mounting systems for table saws, and table saw attachments are also disclosed. One embodiment may include a first clamp surface, a second clamp surface spaced apart from the first clamp surface so that a base portion of a riving knife or splitter can be placed between the clamp surfaces with the opposing sides of the base portion generally parallel to the first and second clamp surfaces.
Abstract:
A quick-release apparatus which is adapted for a knife board of a saw grinding machine comprises a fixture plate forming with a first projection; wherein the knife board includes a coupled portion having a slot to hook the first projection; a fastening member mounted onto and not pivot with respect to the first projection of the fixture plate and including an exterior side having at least one concaved portion; and a control member pivotably connected to the fastening member and including an abutted side and at least one protruding portion formed on the abutted side, with the abutted side and the at least one protruding portion both corresponding to the at least one concaved portion, with the abutted side facing the fastening member, and with the at least one protruding portion selectively pressing the exterior side of the fastening member to tightingly attach to the knife plate.
Abstract:
A power tool in one embodiment is a table saw which includes a latch hold mechanism, a swing arm movable along a swing arm path between a first position adjacent the latch hold mechanism and a second position spaced apart from the latch hold mechanism, a latch movable between a first position whereat the swing arm is maintained at the first position and a second position whereat the swing arm is not maintained at the first position, an actuating device configured to transfer a force to the swing arm when the swing arm is maintained at the first position, and a control system configured to control the actuating device to transfer a force to the swing arm when the swing arm is maintained at the first position sufficient to move the latch from the first position to the second position.
Abstract:
A saw blade protector for a cutting device having a table for placing thereon a workpiece, a saw blade protruding from an upper surface of the table, and a riving knife disposed in front of the saw blade in a moving direction of the workpiece for cutting the workpiece and positioned in line with the saw blade. The saw blade protector includes a guard plate constructed to cover the saw blade, a holding frame constructed to be mounted on an upper portion of the riving knife and to be able to support the guard plate, and an adjusting device constructed to be able to adjust a position of the holding frame relative to the upper surface of the table.
