摘要: A weeding hand tool device facilitates removal of weeds using a sliding motion over the ground surface. The device includes a handle having a first end and a second end. The handle is elongated extending from the first end to the second end. A planar cutting head is coupled to the second end of the handle. The cutting head has a sharpened outer peripheral edge comprising a front section, a pair of outer front side sections, a rear section, and a pair of outer rear side sections. A pair of slots are aligned and extend inwardly from opposed sides of the cutting head wherein each slot is positioned between an associated one of the outer front side sections and an associated one of the outer rear side sections.

摘要: This invention is a mechanical harvesting device which uses a novel approach to cut stems on agricultural products such as apples. The device is comprised of a system including levers and a unique cutting blade profile which allows for directional transfer of force from the wrists and forearms to effectuate cutting. The device is designed so that the cutting of stems on agricultural products can be performed separately and autonomously by both arms, thus offering improvements in efficiency and safety over other harvesting practices where the cutting is performed using both hands together. Current improvements include revisions to the product interface and safety guide as well as new versions of the device, employing many of the same design elements but having as the main difference a powered motor to actuate the cutting sequence in place of levers. Future improvements include options for data generation using electronic signal processing to tabulate periodic count totals on harvested product. Such data would help growers and marketers gather valuable information about crop sizing and labor efficiency.

摘要: A multi-functional gardening implement that, in some embodiments, functions as a pair of shears, a spade, a garden cultivator, a saw, a machete, a weeder and a rake. The implement comprises two shears that cooperate to cut vegetation placed between them when a user presses the handles of the shears together. The implement also has at least one appendage, which may be a shovel, a hoe, a garden cultivator, or another garden tool that is attached to the central portions of the shears and can be rotated to an operating position where the appendage is supported by the blades of the shears. The implement may have a second appendage that rotates in the opposite direction to a similar operating position against the other sides of the blades. In some embodiments, the cutting portions of the shears may be configured to define a spade blade in the closed position.

摘要: A hand-held device for picking fruit which includes an elongated grip member and a head member connected to the elongated grip member which includes a pair of fixed immovable blades. Each blade has a cutting edge. The blades are positioned in the head in opposed planar relationship to one another so that at least a portion of each respective cutting edge is in spaced opposed relationship to the cutting edge of the other blade at a distance less than the thickness of the stem of the fruit to be picked. Picking is accomplished by a thrusting motion in which the device is held in one of the laborers hands while the fruit to be picked is grasped in the other. The device is thrust at the stem of the fruit to be picked. The pair of fixed blades guides the stem into the cutting region where the stem is severed. The fruit can be removed by the hand holding it during the cutting operation.
