Abstract:
The invention relates to a method to apply a material which assists in the maintenance of a crease (4) or other formation in a garment (2), such as a crease line in the leg of a pair of trousers. The material (15) which is applied is of a form which minimizes the opportunity for the material (15) to be visible at the time of application and/or during subsequent use of the garment (2). The material (15) is applied using a method and apparatus (100) in which the spacing of the apparatus nib (14) from which the material (15) is applied, from the garment (2) and/or contact of the nib (14) with the garment (2) is controlled by support members (112, 114) such that the material (15) is applied onto the garment (2) and adheres thereto in a manner in which the desired effect of the material (15) is achieved without the material subsequently causing discolouration and/or passing through the garment (2).
Abstract:
Apparatus and method for the application of a ribbon of fluid material along one or more garment crease lines by relative movement between one or more cartridges which include a reservoir in which the fluid material is provided, and the garment, the one or more cartridges including a dispensing aperture in connection with the reservoir and through which the fluid material is dispensed. Movement means are provided in the one or more cartridges to encourage the fluid material in the cartridge to move towards the dispensing aperture and a pressurised fluid supply is connected to the one or more cartridges to selectively provide pressurised fluid to the movement means and hand operated user actuable control means are provided to allow the selective provision of the pressurised fluid. The provision of hand operation of the user actuable control means allows the apparatus to be significantly more compact. Preferably the operation of the user actuable control means and the movement of the one or more cartridges with respect to the one or more crease lines to dispense the fluid material can be achieved simultaneously by the same hand of the user.
Abstract:
A clothing arrangement is disclosed. The clothing arrangement includes a crotch area and a pant leg secured to the crotch area. The pant leg has (i) a lateral inner area and (ii) an interior lateral lower edge. The clothing arrangement also includes a stay member secured to the lateral inner area of the pant leg such that the stay member substantially prevents the interior lateral lower edge from moving toward the crotch area when the pant leg is worn by a person.
Abstract:
A pair of trousers including two leg coverings for covering two legs of a wearer, respectively, each of the leg coverings including a front and a rear half, one or both of the front and rear halves having a crease line extending over a vertical length thereof, and two side portions extending along the crease line on both sides of the crease line, respectively; and one or more adhesive tapes which connect respective inner surfaces of the side portions to each other over an entire length of the side portions along the crease line, so as to prevent the side portions from opening in a direction in which the side portions become more distant.
Abstract:
An apparatus for applying a crease-setting composition for setting a crease in textile material in which the composition is forced out of a nozzle at a controlled delivery rate while the nozzle is guided along the crease line.
Abstract:
An apparatus for the application of crease setting composition comprises at least one movable arm 12 capable of insertion into a leg of a pair of trousers to be creased, the arm carrying at, or near, one end thereof an applicator head 20 comprising a nozzle 22 for the application of crease setting composition and guide means 24 for locating the nozzle within the crease to be treated. Means are provided, for example, a pump or compressed air, for urging crease setting composition through the nozzle into the crease to be set in timed relationship with the relative movement between the applicator head 20 and the trousers 34. A method of operation is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A durable crease is formed in a textile article by applying a flexible casting compound in a preformed crease using a non-rotary applicator in conjunction with a structure for guiding the applicator along the crease. A screw driven piston within the applicator dispenses the compound in response to applicator travel.
