Abstract:
An article of apparel may include a textile element that defines a crease. The textile element may be knitted to have a first course and a second course that are adjacent to each other in some areas of the textile element and spaced from each other by a raised course in other areas of the textile element. The crease extends along the third course and has a length that is substantially equal to a length of the third course. In manufacturing the textile element, the raised course may be formed between portions of the first course and the second course through a knitting process, such as a flat knitting process.
Abstract:
This invention provides a plastic disposable nozzle tube for a dispensing cartridge, itself disposable, so that the cartridge and nozzle tube can be disposed of after use. The cartridge contains crease setting composition which is dispensed through the nozzle tube and into a crease in a garment which is to be permanently set by the composition. The nozzle tube is pushed into a transverse bore in the cartridge and comprises a tube portion received in the bore and a shoe portion which is push fitted onto one end of the tube portion in a unique position of alignment and is connected thereto. The other end of the tube portion is closed by a plug pushed into the tube portion and connected thereto. Also provided is a nib portion having a rearwardly extending fin having a portion which engages a guide plate attached to the cartridge.
Abstract:
An applicator 10 for crease setting composition comprises an applicator body 12 having at one end thereof a nozzle 14 for applying a crease setting composition to a crease line and at the other end thereof an inlet 26 for compressed air for forcing the composition out of the nozzle 14. Guidance projections 18, 42 are mounted beneath the body so as to guide the applicator nozzle 14 and cause it to deliver composition accurately into the crease. Guidance projections 18, 42 is operatively connected to a valve 2 in the compressed air circuit such that when the guidance projections 18, 42 contacts the garment to be treated pressure is applied to the composition and when the guidance projections are removed from the garment to be creased pressure is removed from the composition.
