摘要： A procedure for making a shoe with a knitted upper, including a series of steps in which—during an upper shaping step—once the internal stocking has been placed on the shoe tree, a membrane element (3) is placed in position, which covers the portion corresponding to the sole of the shoe tree and a lateral portion. The membrane element is a single-body element formed of a polymer membrane that has adhesive material on both sides thereof and features a series of suitable shaped and positioned perforations (30). The membrane element is designed to create a support structure for the two stockings so that the shoe obtained has and maintains a structured shape. Once the upper is complete, a sole is constructed by injection moulding in order to create a shoe that is a single, homogeneous, compact, and structured body.

As the foam composition expands, the foam composition interacts with and mechanically engages with the upper that is positioned at the mold cavity to allow for the mechanical engagement that results in the direct attach of the sole to the upper. The film is then trimmed from the sole sidewalls.

The vamp includes a middle section, and the vamp and the middle section are formed of a continuous piece of a first molded material. The vamp also includes a first aperture and a second aperture. The sole includes a forefoot section and a heel section that are joined by a midfoot section. The forefoot section, the heel section, and the midfoot section are formed of a continuous piece of a second molded material. The second molded material is an EVA-based material. The first aperture of the vamp receives a part of the forefoot section and the second aperture receives a part of the heel section. When the shoe assembly is placed on a flat surface, the forefoot section is in direct contact with the flat surface.

摘要： An integrated article of footwear including a waterproofing membrane direct attached to an upper of the footwear. An outsole is further secured to the membrane and/or the upper. In one embodiment, the membrane includes a visible aesthetic bead in the footwear forefoot region, but not the heel region. The membrane may be of greater thickness in the forefoot region to provide added rigidity. A heel cradle is positioned in the footwear heel region between the upper and the outsole. The footwear provides the durability of a direct attach construction in the forefoot and the comfort and cushion of an athletic construction in the heel of the shoe. A method for constructing the footwear includes direct attaching the membrane to an upper of the shoe. Optionally, a heel cradle is disposed in the heel region of the shoe, and the outsole is secured to the heel cradle and/or upper there.
