摘要： Footwear and its method of construction are provided. An insole forepart is attached to the bottom of the sock liner. An upper having a vamp lining with a toe part is provided where toe part is stitched to the sock liner such that the vamp lining and the sock liner together define a volume for receiving a wearer's foot. A steel toe is positioned substantially around the toe part of the vamp lining. An outsole having a forward portion formed of a material having a first resiliency characteristic is provided. A stiffener is positioned between the forward portion of the outsole and the insole forepart where the stiffener is formed of a material having a second resiliency characteristic less than the first resiliency characteristic.

摘要： A toe box protector, or a metatarsal protector, or a combined protector for safety footwear are molded from plastics material either integrally or as separate parts. Each protector part comprises a body of generally U-shaped cross section provided at the central part of its top outer surface with a force receiving part that overlies the central part with its lower surface spaced from the central part and of concave shape toward the central part, thereby forming an arcuate air space at this location. In an integrally molded structure each force receiving part has two transversely spaced integral junctions with the respective body; alternatively they are molded separately and the force receiving part has longitudinal edges that engage two mutually facing, spaced surfaces on the body part. Compression and impact forces applied to the force receiving part act to flatten it and to press it toward the central part, reducing the height of the interposed arcuate air space, with conversion of such forces to corresponding longitudinal forces distributed along the integral junctions or the butting surfaces and to compression forces in the sides of the U. The separate force receiving plate member may comprise a sheet of plastics material or metal. Each protector body part and force receiving plate member may be divided along its length by transversely extending slots to increase its longitudinal flexibility so as to accommodate the action of walking.

摘要： A toe cap is a reinforcement member made of thermoset structural composite material with a tensile strength of 30,000 psi, a tensile modulus of 2.5×106 psi, a compression strength of 35,800 psi, a specific gravity of 1.85, and a Barcol hardness of 65. More preferably, the material has a tensile strength of at least 50,000 psi, a tensile modulus of at least 3.8×106 psi, a compression strength of at least 42,000 psi, a specific gravity of at least 1.90, and a Barcol hardness of at least 70. A suitable family of materials is a thermoset vinyl ester based sheet molding compound reinforced with glass fiber and/or carbon fiber. The sheet molding compound has fiber content of about 63% and a typical fiber length of one inch. The maximum wall thickness of the upper portion of the toe cap is in the range of between 0.100 inch and 0.250 inch.

摘要： A punch-to-fix structure of steel-head shoes comprises a vamp, a steel head, and a sole, in which a covering portion and a wearing entrance are formed at a front and a rear end of the vamp, respectively. The bottom end of the vamp is an upper jointing mouth having a plurality of peripherally punched through holes, and there is also a plurality of through holes formed surrounding the steel head. The top end of the sole is a lower jointing mouth surrounded by a plurality of protruding dots corresponding to the through holes in the steel head and the upper jointing mouth of the vamp. When assembling, the protruding dots along the perimeter in the lower jointing mouth of the sole are squeezed into the through holes of the covering portion in the upper jointing mouth and into the through holes of the steel head to thereby combine the steel head, the vamp, and the sole solidly together.
