Abstract:
Dual access hand luggage having in the interior a stowage cell system or assembly, preferably made of stretch fabric, that permits isolation packing and orthogonal stowage and retrieval of goods retained in the cells by access from either face of the suitcase. For roll-on type travel bags, a pop-up handle is provided in a side wall, rather than on the back face as in current luggage. The inventive system is particularly useful for suitcases, carry-on or roll-on bags, back packs, totes, brief cases, and laptop cases. Dual-sided external access combined with internal, modular, fixed-size or variable-size stowage cells, oriented generally orthogonal to the planes of both sides, permits packing and selective removal of articles through either face of the bag so that articles otherwise buried in the bag are easily removed by flipping the bag over and accessing the item through the openable back face.
Abstract:
A business case comprises a front compartment, middle compartment, an expandable rear compartment, a removable portable computer carrying case designed to carry a portable computer, and a suit carrier. The bag member can be dropped into one of two panels located on the front face of the front compartment. The panels additionally allow for easy access to a portable computer and related accessories stored within the carrying case. Alternatively, the carrying case can be closed and stored in the expandable rear compartment when the suit carrier is stored in the front compartment of the case. The middle compartment is sized to hold clothing and travel related items for business trips and is equipped with pouches for smaller items. Furthermore, the middle compartment of the housing may include wheels, handles, and feet for easily moving and balancing the case.
Abstract:
A garment container apparatus includes a rigid outer structure having hingably connected first and second storage sections with rigid side walls defining opposite sides of the container when closed. The first storage section has at its base, adjacent the hinged connection with the second storage section, a plurality of moveable storage enclosures. The enclosures are hingably connected to the base for swinging movement between a stored position and an open position. The first storage section also includes a garment support structure having two support members attached at a 90.degree. angle to each other. One support member is pivotally connected to opposed margin walls of the first storage section for opening and closing movement. A mounting structure including an inflatable bladder and a cooperating restraint bar is integral to the pivot mounted support member and defines a compression zone therebetween. The remaining support member is in a vertical attitude when the garment support structure is opened and is adapted to retain a clothing hanger. A garment placed on the hanger is secured between the restraint bar and the inflatable bladder, and air pressure is applied to the bladder so that the garment is held and prevented from wrinkling. When it is desired to close the container, the garment support structure is unlatched and rotated downward and locked into secured position by replacement of the moveable enclosures to a stored position. In this rotation, the bladder, bar and garment remain in a fixed position relative to each other.
Abstract:
A luggage case has a generally rectangular prismatic configuration of a size and shape similar to a flight bag when in the closed position, and presents a garment bag when in the expanded or open position. The luggage case comprises a support structure and a flexible panel connected to the support structure which extends laterally from the support structure to expose the interior of both the panel and the support structure. A selective attachment device connects the panel to the support structure to close the luggage case, forming the prismatic configuration. A support piece is connected to the interior of the panel to hold packed articles in the appropriate position. A packing pouch is connected to the support structure to extend from the interior of the case opposite of the panel when the case is opened. The packing pouch folds into the interior of the case and overlaps the packed articles when the case is in the closed position. The luggage case includes wheels and a guide handle that allow the case to be maneuvered and transported easily. An auxiliary luggage case attachment mechanism is provided to support an auxiliary luggage case on the closed luggage case so that the user can carry more than one case concurrently.
Abstract:
A clothing accessories case has a bottom portion with an interior cavity, a cooperating top portion, and a plurality of flexible dividers. The cooperating top portion abuts the bottom portion to define a closed case that encloses the interior cavity. The plurality of flexible dividers are located in the interior cavity and are oriented generally parallel with one another. The dividers are resilient to be deflected from an initial position and returned to the initial position. Each divider of the plurality of dividers is hingedly connected with the bottom portion. The interior cavity has a length and the dividers extend generally along at least a portion of the length. Each divider may include a structural substrate and a finish covering attached to and substantially encapsulating the structural substrate. Further, the finish covering may extend significantly beyond the structural substrate in at least one direction. The case may include a seal interposed between the bottom portion and the top portion to provide air-tight closure of the interior cavity. The case provides a non-wrinkling environment for one to transport one's ties or scarves and the like. The case may be used by individuals in personal travel and by manufacturers in commercial shipping of ties or scarves or the like.
Abstract:
A comparnnented storage container for storing and transporting a variety of items, including a closable outer container, a multiplicity of item holders, a plurality of holder carriers, and a carrier receiver assembly. A single item holder or a group of item holders is removably connected to each holder carrier, and a plurality of holder carriers is removably connected to the carrier receiver assembly within the outer container, providing compartmented storage space for a multiplicity of items. Each item holder is constructed in a resealable envelope-like configuration of a transparent material, allowing visual inspection, selection, and removal of an individual item without removing holder carriers or item holders from the outer container. Item holders may be readily removed from and replaced in the outer container in groups or individually.
Abstract:
A flexible protective insert for lining a suitcase of soft-sided construction, having elongate flexible ties for securing clothing and the like within the protective insert and having elongate flexible support ties for securing the protective insert within such a suitcase. The insert is preferably constructed of flexible fabric and is light in weight, so that it does not significantly add to the weight of the suitcase nor to the bulk of articles carried within the suitcase. The protective insert protects clothing packed therein from being soiled by articles such as shoes carried within the suitcase, prevents clothing contained therein from moving about within a partially empty suitcase, and thereby being wrinkled, and permits articles contained in the insert to be placed on top of other loosely packed articles within a soft-sided suitcase, giving ready access to either the articles in the insert or to the loosely packed articles.
Abstract:
An elongated transport container for skis and the like is provided wherein upper and lower matched halves are pivotally connected to form a box-like enclosure. The lower half of the enclosure supports a pair of clamping bars at either end and a pair of skis may be placed on these bars in edge-to-edge relation. The upper half of the container has a pair of matching clamping bars secured at either end, and the clamping bars are positioned so that the closing of the container will clamp the pairs of bars together so as to frictionally lock the skis therebetween. The clamping bars also support mounting brackets for ski poles and the like.
Abstract:
The disclosure is of a display case for jewels which includes display trays. The display trays are nested within the lid of the jewel cases of the invention when the lids are in a closed position. When opened the display trays are rotated outwardly by movement of the lid to a display position on the exterior of the case.
Abstract:
An article of manufacture with a quick access feature designed to assist users for rapidly accessing an object in an enclosed container. The access feature may be attached to a pouch, a bag, a pocket or another item designed to carry objects, including apparel that has built-in pockets or attached pockets, such as those on shirt or pants. An article of manufacture may include an access panel attached to a base member defining a pocket. The access panel includes an access opening or eyelet. A carrier member is configured for carrying an object therein and in the pocket. In one arrangement, the carrier member is movably disposed within the pocket so that the access opening exposes a portion of the carrier member for movement between a holding position and a retrieving position responsive to a force being applied via the access opening.
