摘要： A puppy tail docking gauge comprising a lazy-tong device comprised of a plurality of tong elements pivotally secured together to form pivotally secured tong sections, with the tong sections pivotally secured together by hollow rivets and a guide bar secured to one end of the lazy-tong device. The method comprising straightening the puppy's tail over the lazy-tong device, adjusting the length of the lazy-tong device so that the tip of the tail extends to a point of pivotal connection between two adjacent tong sections, marking the tail at such point, and surgically docking the tail at said point.

摘要： A combined lighter and cutting device includes a fixed handle, a cutting seat, a movable handle, a lighter device and a blade unit. The fixed handle has a pair of arms extending downwardly and frontwardly from one end thereof. The cutting seat is mounted between the distal ends of the arms of the fixed handle. The movable handle is connected pivotally to the fixed handle and has a horizontal support plate that extends forwardly from the hollow member to a space between the two arms of the fixed handle above the cutting seat. The movable handle is moved toward the fixed handle so as to move the support plate toward the cutting seat. The lighter device includes a gas cylinder received in the hollow member and operable so as to release gas from an outlet thereof, a tubular ignition rod communicated with the outlet of the gas cylinder and having a perforated end extending under the support plate, and an ignition device including an ignition electrode secured on the support plate, and a push-button operable so as to generate a spark at the ignition electrode to ignite the gas released by the gas cylinder. The blade unit is connected to the perforated end of the ignition rod under the support plate.

摘要： This invention is a method, and an apparatus for practicing said method, wherein a resilient ring-like member of rubber or the like is expanded in a triangular configuration and slipped over the tails of swine for the purposes of totally interrupting the flow of blood and causing the tail to drop off, at the same time requiring no surgery or other techniques causing a loss of blood. The method utilizes a particular apparatus, a unique invention in itself, for expanding the ring in an unusual, economical, and rapid manner. The expanding apparatus comprises a pair of pegs mounted on jaws and activated away from one another by a pair of handles which in turn activate a third peg cooperating with the first two to form a triangular configuration.
