摘要： An automatic air pressure relief and check valve assembly which may be used in combination with a swimming pool filter or separation tank. The valve assembly includes a normally open lower valve which is responsive to the tank's being full of water for closing the lower valve, and a normally closed upper valve which is responsive to air being expelled from the tank through the normally open lower valve for opening the upper valve during times when water is filling the tank. The upper valve may be selectively opened when air is required to enter the tank so that water may be drained from the tank. Preferred embodiments of the upper and lower valves include valve seats having conical surfaces and respective valve members which cause an included O-ring to roll upon and wedge against its conical seat for reliably closing each valve.

摘要： The present invention relates to a distributor for distributing a liquid in an exchange column. The distributor comprises at least one predistributor means positioned to receive a liquid feed and a plurality of distributor means having substantially straight longitudinal side walls and open top portions. The interior and exterior of the longitudinal side walls of the predistributor means are covered with a wettable, open-pore material. In operation the liquid feed flows from the predistributor means into the interior of the distributor means, through the open-pore material, exiting this open-pore material on the exterior of the distributor means. In this manner an improved, even distribution of the liquid feed within the exchange column is obtained.

摘要： A submerged filter includes filtering matter in the form of a granular material contained in a vat having a floor for supporting the granular material. The liquid to be treated flows from the bottom to top and is brought into contact with a gas serving for the treatment of the liquid and circulating in the same direction. The filtering material is washed with water and air. The liquid to be treated, the treating gas, and the wash fluids are introduced into the filtering mass through the floor by means of nozzles which extend through the floor. Some of the nozzles essentially serve for introducing the treating gas, while others serve for introducing the liquid to be treated and the fluids for washing the filtering material.

摘要： A liquid filter device includes an upwardly open structure having a bottom and a floor positioned above the bottom, the bottom and the floor defining therebetween a chamber. A filter element comprising granular material is supported by the floor within the structure. Liquid to be treated passes downwardly through the granular material in contact with a gas passing upwardly through the granular material during a normal filtering and processing operation. During an operation for washing the granular material, water and gas pass upwardly through the granular material. A plurality of nozzles open into the granular material and have stems communicating with the chamber. The plurality of nozzles includes first nozzles having openings for, during the normal operation, passing liquid from the granular material into the chamber, and for, during the washing operation, distributing the water and gas from the chamber into the granular material. The plurality of nozzles further includes second nozzles having openings for, during the normal operation, distributing the gas from the chamber into the granular material, and for, during the washing operation, distributing the water and gas from the chamber into the granular material.

摘要： An underdrain assembly for a filter tank includes a plurality of spirally shaped hollow tubular elements of substantially equal length having capped terminal ends and equally spaced perforations in lower sides thereof. The elements are equally spaced apart so that the perforations in adjacent elements are spaced substantially the same as the perforations in the tubular elements. Backwash water fed out through such perforations is therefore distributed during a backwashing operation substantially uniformly throughout the filter bed of the tank overlying the underdrain assembly so that the entirety of the filter bed is completely and uniformly backwashed.

摘要： A mounting adaptor for multiport multiposition valves adapted to be removably attached to an opening in a filter tank is provided. The adaptor has a peripheral flange which sealably engages a corresponding flange on the filter tank and is secured in place by a v-band coupling. Two fluid connecting ports for attachment to the multiport valve are provided to supply fluid to and discharge fluid from the filter depending on the valve position. The mounting adaptor also includes a fluid diffuser adapted to be disposed within the filter tank to uniformly distribute the influent fluid across the filter.
