    摘要: An apparatus and method for separating a particle stream into particle groups, comprising a dilution treatment chamber defining an upstanding channel to receive a particle stream, such that the particle stream falls toward a first-particle-group outlet. A transfer casing is adjacent to the dilution treatment chamber and defines a transfer chamber to receive a second particle group. Second-particle-group outlets are laterally positioned with respect to the channel and allow fluid communication therebetween. A distributor in the channel is provided to break down the particle stream and to distribute the particle stream over a surface area of the channel. Fluid flow apertures create a fluid flow between the transfer chamber and the channel so as to entrain a second particle group to the transfer chamber with a first particle group remaining in the channel for exiting through the first-particle-group outlet. The apparatus and method is also used to mix/treat particle streams/fluids.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for removing concentrated spots of collected particulates from an impact collection surface, and transferring those particulates into a container suitable for preparing a liquid sample. A jet of fluid can be utilized to remove and transfer the particulates. If a liquid jet is employed, care is taken to minimize the quantity of liquid to avoid unnecessarily diluting the sample. A mechanical scraper can alternatively be employed to remove and transfer the particulates into the container. The scraper can be rinsed with liquid or vibrated to remove the particulates. Alternatively, the portion of the surface containing a specific spot of particulates can be removed and placed into a container.

The main conveyor conveys particulate matter from the hopper to a screening device positioned beneath the upper end of the main conveyor. The particulate is screened into three grades of coarseness, with the coarsest falling into a chute, the middle coarseness falling onto one lateral conveyor and the finest falling onto an underscreen conveyor, which preferably is driven downhill onto another lateral conveyor. The tracks permit the machine to be driven around the work site and onto and off of a trailer, and the entire machine can be remotely controlled. The downhill conveyor permits loading of the hopper from both sides of the frame.

    摘要: The invention concerns a screening method and machine for size sorting in a fluid (9), into two categories, of materials with different volumes and density close to that of the fluid used after total immersion in said fluid. Mechanical stirring (6) means upstream of the sieves, optionally combined with the use of surfactants in an aqueous medium, maintain said materials to be size-sorted suspended in said fluid. The fluid circulates from upstream to downstream of the sieves. Only the materials below a certain size, volume or weight, maintained suspended in the fluid, pass through the size-sorting sieves (15). The sieves are immersed in the fluid and do not slow down the liquid flow passing through them. To obtain further size-sorted categories, it is possible to organise the inventive process sequentially. The invention is useful in poultry processing plants, processing feathers and down for padding purposes, purifying foreign matter in pasty mixtures and the like.
