Abstract:
A device (510) for the direct or indirect application of liquid or pasty application medium (516) by means of an applicator unit (512) to a material web (520), in particular of paper or board, comprises a device (570) upstream of the applicator unit (512) in the running direction (L) of the substrate (U) in order to attenuate the air boundary layer (G) carried along by the substrate (U). The attenuation device can in this case comprise a sealing element (570) which is pressed in a sealing manner against the substrate (U) and rolls on the latter substantially without slippage, and/or can comprise an electrode arrangement and/or can comprise an ultrasound source and/or can comprise a resilient diaphragm element acting without contact.
Abstract:
A device treats a fiber stock suspension with at least one additive, the fiber stock suspension being used for production of at least one of paper and cardboard. The fiber stock suspension includes a suspension medium and a fiber material. The fiber material has fiber surfaces, the fiber surfaces being moistened by the suspension medium. The device includes a fluffer having an inlet for receiving at least one of the fiber stock suspension and the at least one additive. The fluffer is coupled to the inlet, the fluffer being configured for separating the fiber material and enlarging a specific surface of the fiber surfaces.
Abstract:
Water draining device for a paper machine or the like, in particular for a felted press of such a paper machine, including a receiving tank extending at least essentially over the machine width. The receiving tank includes a first chamber that receives arriving water and is under ambient pressure, and a second chamber that is connected to the first chamber and is under vacuum, into which the water collecting in the first chamber is aspirated and from which the water is eventually drained. A water receiving device of improved efficiency is also provided by forming a water receiving device by at least one suction channel projecting into the wedge-shaped area between the upper press roll and the dewatering belt, and extending transverse to the pulp web, which suction channel is connected to a source of reduced pressure.
Abstract:
A paper machine for manufacturing a fiber web traveling in a machine direction and having a tail includes at least one rope defining a rope nip. A threading arm assembly is positioned in association with the rope nip. The threading arm includes a frame and a diverter carried by the frame. The diverter is movable to divert the tail in a direction transverse to the machine direction toward the rope nip.
Abstract:
Device and process for impregnating web with an impregnating agent. The device includes a coating device structured and arranged to apply the impregnating agent to the web and a wide nip calender located, with respect to a web travel direction, before the coating device. The wide nip calender includes a circulating jacket and a back pressure element arranged to form a wide nip. The instant abstract is neither intended to define the invention disclosed in this specification nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.
Abstract:
Process for cleaning at least one roll of a calender. The process includes guiding a web over a surface of the at least one roll of the calender to be cleaned, and producing a relative speed difference between the surface of the least one roll and a section of the web lying against the surface of the a least one roll. The instant abstract is neither intended to define the invention disclosed in this specification nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.
Abstract:
Method and system for controlling web formation in the forming section of a paper machine includes measuring the amount of white water occurring during drainage in at least one drainage region of the forming section; and carrying out the web formation control on the basis of the white water measurement.
Abstract:
Deflection controlled roll that includes a rotating roll jacket, a rotationally fixed yoke arranged to axially pass through the roll jacket, and a plurality of hydrostatic support elements arranged on the yoke in a direction of a roll axis which are chargeable with a pressure fluid to exert a supporting force on an inner side of the roll jacket. A device for influencing a roll temperature via at least one fluid flow, which is separate from the pressure fluid is also included. The support elements are arranged into a plurality of controllable roll zones arranged along the roll axis. The temperature influencing device is structured and arranged to locally charge respective roll zones depending upon a pressure on the support elements in a respective roll zone.
Abstract:
Deflection compensation roll and process for reducing vibrations in deflection roll. The roll includes antifriction bearings, a roll jacket supported in an area of its axial ends on the antifriction bearings, and hydraulic supports arranged to hydraulically support the roll jacket parallel to a working plane. A damping device, positioned next to each antifriction bearing, is structured and arranged to act essentially perpendicular to the working plane.
Abstract:
A press for processing a web and a method of controlling a press. The press includes at least one nip having a first press roll and a second press roll. A first belt runs through the at least one nip. A second belt runs through the at least one nip. A sandwich stretch is formed by the first and second belts and is arranged after the at least one nip. A first mechanism is provided for driving the first belt. A second mechanism is provided for driving the second belt. The method includes driving the first belt at a first speed, and driving the second belt at a second speed, wherein the first speed is substantially the same as the second speed at least in a region of the sandwich stretch.
