Abstract:
A pilot assembly has an integral stripper and is coupled to a die member from the non-working side of the die member. The pilot tip precisely locates the stock strip in the metal forming die. The reciprocating ejector pins surrounding the pilot strip the stock from the pilot. The pilot assembly fits into an opening in the die member and can be secured by a single fastener that is received in the bottom of the pilot body of the pilot assembly.
Abstract:
A stock lifter for metal forming dies includes a self-contained assembly. The assembly includes a guide pin that reciprocates within a base. A hardened end cap, which contacts the stock, is attached to the guide pin. A spring is located on the exterior surface of a portion of the base and surrounds the guide pin body. One end of the spring contacts a surface on the cap, while the other end of the spring contacts a surface on the base or an optional mounting flange that is attached above the base. Thus, the stock lifter assembly has a hardened cap for the stock to slide on and a larger, externally mounted spring that provides longer life for the stock lifter. The stock lifter assembly can be made of several different lengths and sizes by using longer or wider guide pins and springs.
Abstract:
The present invention increases the positional accuracy of a floating cutter unit with respect to a press upper die for main trimming. A floating cutter unit is provided with: a floating cutter for cutting scrap from a plate-shaped material, said floating cutter being attached to and used in a trimming press processing device that cuts scrap from a plate-shaped material along a trim line Tr and that additionally cuts scrap along a scrap cut line Sc; a spring that is brought into contact with the tail end surface of the floating cutter and with a holder set for holding the floating cutter so as to be movable in the direction of an axial center O, and that applies reaction force to the floating cutter; and a guide member that is attached to the holder set, brought into contact with the floating cutter, and used to guide movement in the direction of the axial center O.

Abstract:
Devices for separating two workpiece parts, e.g., metal sheets, from one another are described and include a workpiece mounting, a lifting device arranged on one side of the workpiece mounting, and a counter-holder arranged on the opposite side of the workpiece mounting. The counter-holder can be transferred into a fixing state and into a releasing state. One of the workpiece parts to be separated from one another is provided as a removal part, the other as a remaining part. For separating the two workpiece parts, the removal part, which is acted upon by the lifting device and supported by the counter-holder, can be moved by means of the lifting device perpendicular to the mounting in relation to the remaining part by a removal movement. At least in the releasing state, the counter-holder forms a rigid abutment in the lifting direction for the removal part. The rigid abutment has the effect that the removal part is aligned parallel to the mounting. Machine-based systems include a processing unit for producing two workpiece parts from a sheet-like workpiece and a separating device as described herein. Methods for separating two workpiece parts of a sheet-like workpiece are carried out by means of the devices described herein and can be part of a machine-based process.
Abstract:
In a cutting die having a cutting chip, applied to a punch press, and cutting a work in collaboration with a cutting punch, a resistance member for guiding swarf generated during cutting of the work through the cutting chip and dividing it by giving resistance to it is provided around a scrap discharge hole so that the divided swarf does not remain in the scrap discharge hole but is discharged to an outside so as to prevent clogging by scrap.
Abstract:
A forming tool assembly and method for forming a cooking element. The forming tool assembly has an upper tool assembly and a lower tool assembly that cooperate to shape the cooking element from an annular cutout.
Abstract:
A die apparatus includes a first die and a second die which are respectively used in adjacent working stations that sequentially blank or stamp out a progressively fed thin metal sheet. The first and second dies are held in a state where outer peripheral surfaces of the first and second dies directly contact each other.
Abstract:
A stock ejector assembly and method for metal forming dies includes a stock ejector with a large spring and a ring-style stripper. The ring-style stripper provides a larger surface area for contacting the stock. The large compression spring is preloaded and when a load is applied, the stripper retracts and the spring pressure increases. When the dies separate, the stock ejector pushes the part off flat surfaces, separating surfaces sealed by adhesion, including but not limited to oil or lubricant adhesion.
Abstract:
In a device for automatically adjusting the control cams of a forging machine, with a releasing means for releasing the operating position of a cam, the cam supporting shaft swingably supports, with a controlled movement with respect to the shaft longitudinal axis, radially extending brackets, in turn supporting a bar extending through the overall length of the control cam supporting shaft, the brackets being moreover provided, at each control cam, with cylinder-piston units including movable pins which can be engaged with recesses formed in the cams.
