Abstract:
A bending method and bending apparatus directed to avoiding the risk of die breakage and damage to ram coupling parts due to an abnormal condition of a ram drive shaft and directed to achieving high-accuracy bending in which a uniform bend angle can be produced throughout the entire length of a workpiece without forming a boat-formed belly. In a press brake having three or more drive shafts, the deformation amounts of the ram and the table at each shaft-load imposed point are calculated based on input bending process data. A target closest distance between the punch and the die at each shaft-load imposed point is calculated from its corresponding deformation amounts. The difference between the actual bend angle of the workpiece after bending and a target bend angle is obtained at at least three positions, that are, the ends and center of the workpiece. From these differences, a correction amount for the moving amount of the ram at each shaft-load imposed point is obtained. Further, an adequate limit for the pressing force to be generated by each drive shaft is calculated based on the bending process data and the ram is driven by independently controlling each drive shaft so as not to generate a pressing force exceeding the set limit. To detect an abnormal situation due to abnormal movement of a drive shaft, a line connecting the positions of the drive shafts disposed at the points corresponding to the ends of the workpiece is obtained and the respective deviations of other drive shafts from the connecting line are obtained. If one of the deviations exceeds a preset allowable value, an abnormal situation is detected.
Abstract:
Apparatus for adjusting the shape of an elongate die rail in press equipment comprising a plurality of interconnected shaping members spaced apart from each other and extending longitudinally along the inner surface of the die rail. The shaping members are adapted to permit adjustment of an overall curved shape of the elongate outer surface of the die rail by coordinated longitudinal movement, relative to the die rail, of groups of the shaping members with respect to each other. The shaping members are adapted to permit adjustment of one or more localized portions of the overall shape of the elongate outer surface of the die rail by independent longitudinal movement of one or more individual shaping members relative to the die rail outer surface.
Abstract:
A tool holder apparatus for a press brake is provided. The apparatus comprises a support plate having a first receiving surface. A pivotable clamp has an engagement portion that is moveable toward the first receiving surface of the support plate by pivoting the clamp. The engagement portion has therein formed a bore in which a lifting shaft is rotatably received. The engagement portion defines an opening communicating with the bore. The shaft has therein formed a notch that is adapted to be engaged through the opening by an exterior corner of a forming tool. The notch is configured such that when the engagement portion of the clamp is forced against such tool, a first surface of the exterior tool corner bears against a first surface portion of the notch and causes the shaft to rotate within the bore, thereby bringing a second surface portion of the notch to bear against a second surface of the exterior tool corner and delivering to the tool a mounting force having a component normal to the second surface of the exterior tool corner.

A system manufactures a product by bending a sheet material includes a three-dimensional stereoscopic diagram creator that creates a three-dimensional stereoscopic diagram, including a desired bending angle and a desired flange width, based on graphic information of a product. A displayer displays a bending angle value in the vicinity of a bending angle, and/or a dimension value in the vicinity of a flange, in the created three-dimensional stereoscopic diagram. A test piece displayer displays a test piece of a material proposed for use in the product and displays the bending angle value(s) in the vicinity of the bending angle(s), and/or the dimension value(s) in the vicinity of the flange(s), of the test piece. A measuring device measures the bending angle value(s) and the dimension value(s) for the test piece bent by the bending machine. A calculator that calculates a stroke value using a difference between the desired bending angle and the measured bending angle, and/or a back gauge value using a difference between the desired flange dimension and the measured flange dimension.
