Abstract: A lathe spindle unit is provided with: a rotatable spindle having a cam follower, and a holding section for holding a work piece; a drive source for rotatively driving the spindle; and a driven rotation shaft that has a cam and that is rotatively driven by the drive source. The driven rotation shaft rotatively drives the spindle using the cam and the cam follower.
