Abstract:
A tensioning mechanism for a band saw comprises a tension spring assembly coupled with a sliding tension bracket which is adjustably coupled with an upper arm of the band saw. The sliding tension bracket engages an upper band wheel which couples with a band saw blade. A cam assembly is coupled with the tension spring assembly, the cam assembly imparts a rotational force which is translated into a linear tensioning force by the tension spring assembly upon the band saw blade. A cover assembly is selectively engaged with the cam assembly through use of a biasing assembly. The cover assembly includes an index indicator for identifying an index position, corresponding with the width of the band saw blade, of the cover assembly relative to the cam assembly. The cover assembly includes a handle which enables a user to selectively engage and rotate the cover assembly. The rotation of the handle in turn rotates the cam assembly applying the rotational force which is translated into the tensioning force.
Abstract:
A sawing machine comprises a machine stand on which a top seat and a bottom seat are connected by connection mechanism enabling the top seat to move up and down in relation to the bottom seat, so as to accommodate a workpiece in an operational space located between the top seat and the bottom seat.
Abstract:
A portable bandsaw mill including an elongated saw frame, a saw carriage for traversing the saw frame and a blade unit vertically adjustably mounted on the saw carriage. A bandsaw blade provided on the blade unit is operably engaged by a hydraulic blade drive motor. An engine-driven hydraulic pump pumps hydraulic fluid to the blade drive motor, which drives the bandsaw blade on the blade unit responsive to operation of an internal combustion engine mounted on the saw carriage.
Abstract:
A band sawing machine has a band saw which runs on a drive wheel and a driven wheel of the band sawing machine. The band sawing machine is provided with a slide seat to which the driven wheel is pivoted. The band sawing machine is provided with an eccentric wheel in contact with the slide seat. The eccentric wheel is turned to bring about a change in diametrical distance, thereby resulting in the up-and-down movement of the slide seat. The distance between the drive wheel and the driven wheel is thus shortened to facilitate the replacing of the band saw.
Abstract:
A tensioner assembly includes a mounting bushing having an opening therethrough and a shaft having at least one threaded region along its axial length, the shaft extending through the opening. A mounting nut is threaded onto the shaft. A seating surface extends from the shaft at a position intermediate the mounting bushing and the mounting nut. A spring is disposed around the shaft between the mounting bushing and the seating surface. A first end of the spring is positioned against the seating surface so as to be fixed at the intermediate position along the shaft regardless of a distance between the mounting bushing and the mounting nut, a second end of the spring is positioned toward the mounting bushing.
