摘要： The bottom or tread layer 18 of a shoe sole 17 is formed with a beaded flange 26 extending outwardly around its upper edge, which serves as a barrieragainst the incursion of the material of the upper sole layer 19 into the side face region 20 of the sole during the casting or moulding of the upper layer. The flange is subsequently removed to leave a clean separation line between the two sole layers.

摘要： An injection molding machine for producing shoe soles includes a fixed base, a turntable for rotation relative to the base between a plurality of stations, a plurality of molds including a mold piston and mold sides mounted on the turntable, the number of molds being equal to the number of stations, a multi-faceted column extending upwardly from and being rotatable with the turntable, and a last holder mounted on each face of the column, the number of last holders being equal to the number of molds. A dummy last is mounted on one side of the last holder for closing the mold by defining a first mold cavity with the mold sides and piston for molding a first sole portion at a first molding station, and a last is mounted on each of two opposing faces of the last holder adjacent the dummy last for receiving uppers and closing a mold defined by the mold sides, mold piston and first sole portion to mold a second sole portion between the first sole portion and the lasted upper at another molding station opposite the first molding station.

摘要： A vulcanizing machine for shoes having a frame with a last pivotally mounted upon which is mounted the upper and the vamp to be vulcanized. A mold has two movable pieces and a fixed piece in which the last is subjected to the pressure of a press during vulcanization. A guide is supported by the frame having an independent front section and a sliding base is mounted on the independent section on which the last is mounted. The base is located automatically upon the pressure plate of the press and a mounting on the slide supports the two movable pieces of the mold. Means are provided for reciprocating the mounting and movable pieces towards and away from the fixed piece which encloses the last during vulcanization. The reciprocating means includes a piston of the press for raising and placing the last at the interior of the mold. The fixed piece has recesses and engraved designs for the sole of the shoe, and the two movable pieces have engraved designs for the welt and projecting portions to extend into the recesses when the mold is closed. Timing means control the operation with pedal means for starting the operation.

摘要： A metal mold for forming and attaching a shoe sole to the bottom of a lasted upper comprising a bottom part, a surrounding side part open at the top across which a lasted shoe upper is adapted to be supported and a lining disposed within the cavity constituted by the bottom and surrounding side part comprised of a plastic material which has been molded to a pattern of the bottom to be formed so as to correspond to the exact configuration of the bottom. The lining is detachably attached to the mold to enable replacing it with a lining of a different configuration to adapt the mold to the manufacture of shoes with a variety of bottom formations, and when employed in conjunction with a split mold, that is, one in which the side part is formed in two halves so as to be movable laterally with respect to the bottom part, the side parts of the lining are integrally connected at the heel end to enable moving them away from each other with the lateral movement of the side parts of the mold. The lining is preferably comprised of polyurethane resin and is relatively thin so that the heat from the molded material diffuses quickly to the surrounding metal of the mold.
