A casing encloses the switching device, and an oil seal is provided in two locations at an interval in the longitudinal direction of the driven shaft.

    摘要: An improved wheel end assembly integrates into the steering knuckle a feature for providing driving engagement/disengagement of a wheel to convert between driven and non-driven modes of wheel movement. Such a wheel end assembly receives drive torque from a half shaft through a constant velocity (“CV”) joint. The wheel end assembly has the steering knuckle, which is coupled to the vehicle and which integrally houses a hub lock actuator assembly. A bearing assembly mounted to the knuckle allows for free rotation of a cylindrical wheel hub mounted thereon about a central axis of the hub. The wheel hub has a flange for mounting the wheel at an outboard end thereof and a drive flange at an inboard end thereof, an outer circumference of the flange having a plurality of external teeth spaced evenly therearound. A stub shaft has an outboard end thereof rotatingly supported in the wheel hub and an inboard end thereof defining a housing for the CV joint, the housing having a plurality of external teeth identical in size and number to the teeth on the drive flange. The housing and the flange are axially adjacent to each other. A clutch member with internal teeth sized and adapted for engaging the external teeth on the housing and the drive flange is slidable axially between a first position in which the clutch member teeth engage only the CV housing teeth and no drive torque is transferred from the half shaft to the wheel hub and a second position in which the clutch teeth engage both the CV housing teeth and the drive flange teeth and drive torque is transferred from the half shaft to the wheel hub through the engagement. The hub lock actuator assembly moves the clutch member selectively between the first and second positions.

A fitting groove is formed on the inside face at an interval equal to or larger than the thickness of the outside flange from the fitting section. A circlip opposite to the outside flange is inserted into the circular groove and the outside flange is pressed on the fitting section by inserting a circular elastic member between the circlip and the outside flange.

    摘要: A selective all wheel drive powertrain has an engine and transaxle adapted to normally drive the front wheels of a vehicle. A transfer gear set, drive shaft, clutch and differential are connectable between the output of transaxle and the rear wheels of the vehicle to selectively provide an all wheel drive system. A pump, which supplies the fluid pressure to engage the clutch, has a pair of relatively rotatable members that are connected to rotate in unison with opposite sides of the clutch such that when the valve is operated, the clutch will be engaged. A selectively operable valve is disposed between a reservoir and the pump and controlled in actuation by the vehicle traction control system (TCS) to connect the pump to the reservoir when a loss of traction is sensed by the TCS. The clutch is effectively controlled by the selectively operable valve that supplies the fluid to the pump. The clutch is disposed in the drive path between the drive shaft and the differential with one set of clutch plates being connected to rotate with the drive shaft and another set of clutch plates being connected to rotate with the input to the differential. The pump has one member rotatable with the drive shaft side of the clutch and another member rotatable with the differential side of the clutch.

When the vehicle makes a turn at low speed and when the torque distribution ratio to the extra drive wheel is high, a torsion is produced in the vehicle body, suspension and tires, etc., due to a rotation radius difference between the main and extra drive wheels. After the vehicle has stopped, and the engine is stopped, torque is no longer distributed to the extra drive wheel, the torsion is suddenly released and the vehicle vibrates. According to this invention, the release of torsion is performed gradually by decreasing the torque distribution ratio when the vehicle has stopped, with the engine still running in order to prevent this vibration.

The friction clutch assemblies are actuated by a hydraulic actuator, also adapted to supply pressurized hydraulic fluid to a vehicle wheel brake system.
