In an apparatus for permitting pass-through between a vehicle compartment and a trunk room of a motor vehicle, a first hook is provided on a forward foldable portion of a seat back of the rear seat, and a second hook that is engageable with the first hook is provided on the seat back. The first and second hooks are normally biased by coil springs in such a direction as to engage these hooks with each other. A vehicle-compartment-side strap and a trunk-room-side strap are provided for rotating the first hook and the second hook, respectively, so as to release the engagement of these hooks. A lock device is also provided for limiting rotation of the first hook while the forward foldable portion is in the upright portion, thus making it impossible to release the engagement of the first hook with the second hook by pulling the vehicle-compartment-side strap.

The first extensions has a region longer than the second extension, with a slit formed in that region. The headrest stay passes through the through-opening area and slit, such that the slit is attached closely about the peripheral surface of the headrest stay.

An object of the present invention is to provide an economical vehicle seat which is independent of the level of equipment of the vehicle, wherein the neck rest is moved automatically in dependence on sensed parameters which take into account the body size of the user. This is achieved in that the electronics unit is mounted in the region of the neck rest which is adjustable by electric motor.

On a vertically adjustable headrest provided on a backrest of a vehicle seat, a perpendicularly extending center part is arranged on a front side. On the two lateral edges of the center part, a supporting part is pivotally connected in each case by way of a film hinge, which supporting parts can be swivelled toward lateral edges of the headrest. A holding bow is provided on each supporting part. A leg spring, which itself is inserted into the headrest, reaches around the holding bow. The holding bow interacts with the leg spring such that, in the event of a vehicle crash, the supporting parts are displaced into the inoperative position by the mere action of the vehicle occupant's head. Furthermore, one control element respectively can also be applied to the end section of the supporting part, by way of which control element, the supporting part is swivelled in a sensor-controlled manner into the inoperative position in the event of a vehicle crash.
