摘要: A bracket that is suitable for attachment to the rails of a pick-up truck or dump truck cargo body has attachment holes that support two perpendicular rails in orthogonal arrangement with respect to a cargo box railing or surface. The brackets are readily formed from low cost materials and may be stamped and formed with a minimum number of processing steps using a preferred method of the invention. When used in combination with existing cargo and dump boxes and other cargo carrying vehicles, the brackets extend the utility of the vehicle and offer a faster recovery of capital.

摘要: A vehicle body frame structure includes a first frame member having a high strength and a second frame member having a strength lower than that of the first frame member. The first frame member and the second frame member are joined integrally in line with each other, and the second frame member has a locally reinforced region in a joined section by fixation of a support member for supporting a part. The structure further includes a joint stiffener fixed to the second frame member. The stiffener functions so that the strength of the joined section gradually decreases from the first frame member to the second frame member.

摘要: A linear cold connection with connecting places contains a first and a second structural component to join first and second construction elements of a frame for road or rail bound vehicles. First construction elements are attached to the first structural component and second construction elements are attached to the second structural component. The first and second structural components are joined together via a pair of first and second joint faces. The joint faces form a length of arc of a circular cylinder with a common circular-cylinder axis. The first structural element is joined to the second structural element via a bolt-type connection penetrating openings in the first and second joint faces. The diameters of the openings transverse to the circular-cylinder axis are larger than the diameters of the bolts where they penetrate the openings with the result that, when the bolt-type connection is loose, both structural components can be displaced with respect to each other by relative movement of the first and second joint faces transverse to the circular-cylinder axis and with that accommodate tolerances.

摘要: A side sill is formed into a stair-like configuration with step portions having in turn upper surfaces of lower and upper steps and an intermediate rise portion rising from the step portion so as to reach the step portion of the upper step. A lower end of a center pillar having substantially an angular 8-shaped cross-section is cut in conformity with the stair-like configuration of the side sill. The cutting of the center pillar exposes the intermediate wall, and the exposed intermediate wall is then brought into abutment with the rise portion, whereupon abutment portions so produced are welded together to thereby get the side sill and the center pillar integrated with each other.

摘要: A bracket (10) constructed from a single metal blank (20) is generally L-shaped and includes a first arm (16) for attachment to a member (12) requiring reinforcement and a second arm (18) for snap-on affixation to a pillar (14). The arms interconnect via a connecting portion (40). A pair of tabs (36,38) on the second arm (18) each include a cantiliver spring (50) which locks to the pillar (14) when the tabs are received within the pillar slots (64, 66,70, 72). Typically, two brackets (10) are used to secure a fender (12) to a pillar.

摘要: A vehicle bed assembly 10 has a floor pan 18, a front wall 20, and substantially identical side walls 14, 16. The front wall 20 and the side walls 14, 16 are coupled to the floor pan 18. The vehicle bed assembly 10 further includes a rear wall 22 which is deployed upon a tailgate 21 which is selectively coupled to the floor pan 18, and a pair of substantially identical top rail members 100 which overlay and receive a unique one of the side walls 14, 16 and a bracket 210 which overlays and receives the front wall 20 and which is coupled to the top rail member 100 by a pair of end cap members 122. Particularly, the end cap members 122 and the top rail members 100 cooperatively provide a direct load path from any location on each of the side walls 14, 16 to the bracket 210 which may be coupled to a portion of the vehicle 12, thereby reducing the likelihood of damage to the sidewalls 14, 16 and the front wall 20. The assembly 10 may further include reception members 38, 40, 42, 44 which allow a raised platform to be constructed or placed within the vehicle bed assembly 10, and stake pockets 26, 28, 30 and 32.

摘要: A side gate assembly for use with flatbed article transport vehicles of the character having longitudinally spaced apart stake receiving pockets disposed along the sides of the bed. The side gate assembly comprises a plurality of hingedly interconnected gates that can be easily moved from a securely locked position on the truck bed into a folded positioned so as to permit the vehicle to be loaded from the side, as for example, using a conventional forklift truck. The side gate assembly also includes a novel, easy-to-use locking means for releasably locking the assembly securely in position along the side of the transport vehicle.
