    摘要: A self-propelled underwater transport vehicle provides propulsion for one or more divers to allow submerged travel over extended distances. The vehicle has a cylindrical open hull supporting a deck upon which a diver is supported in a prone position. A blunt bow extends upwardly from the front of the hull, and develops a flow shadow in which the diver is positioned. A control yoke, operable by the diver, is connected to steering elements, which may include bow planes and a pivoting thruster. The cylindrical hull allows the vehicle to closely approach objects without contact therewith, while the flow shadow developed by the bow minimizes drag, despite the open structure of the vehicle.

    摘要: The underwater vehicle disclosed has a selectively energizable propulsion unit for forcible driving the vehicle through the water and at least one resilient gas filled buoyancy element and at least one rigid buoyancy element which is in open contact with the surrounding water when the vehicle is in the water. The volume of the gas in the buoyancy element provides sufficient displacement of the water to keep the vehicle afloat at the surface when unattended or to support a diver. When the vehicle is submerged water pressure will act directly upon and tend to compress the resilient buoyancy element and the gas contained. This reduces the volume of the gas within the buoyancy element and thus reduces buoyancy of that element and the rigid buoyancy element then takes over and becomes neutrally buoyant or slightly positive. Sealed housings such as those surrounding parts of the propulsion unit are filled with a non-conductive and non-corrosive liquid to prevent distortion and subsequent leaking of the seals, and non-moveable electrical components are encased in waterproof epoxy.

    摘要: The present invention generally includes a submersible marine vehicle for recreational use in which a propeller and motor assembly is disposed within the vehicle's hull and a battery is disposed beneath the hull. The front end of the hull contains a plurality of inlets and the back end contains a plurality of outlets. The propeller and motor assembly is disposed within the hull such the propeller is adjacent to the hull's front end and the motor is adjacent to the hull's back end. Each propeller blade has its leading edge aft of its trailing edge. The hull includes a pair of fins which are integral with the hull, each fin extending horizontally and away from the hull. Each fin contains a hand hold, extending downwardly and away from the underside surface of the fin. A pair of curved tracking fins are attached to opposite sides of the bottom side of the hull, each curved tracking fin extending outwardly and downwardly away from the hull. A water-tight housing, attached to the bottom of the hull, contains two compartments: one compartment holds a battery which powers the propeller and motor assembly, and which provides ballast to the vehicle, and the other compartment contains buoyant material in order to provide buoyancy to the vehicle.

    摘要: An underwater swim board enables diver navigation under conditions of zero visibility. A rectangular member has a timer, depth gauge, and compass on its topside to provide a visual indication of time, depth and direction. An enhanced display module on the bottom side of the member contains a microprocessor to receive time, depth, and direction signals from separate electronic timer, depth transducer, and magnetic compass modules in the display module creates representative control signals. The display module also has a display screen and an LCD having variable backlight to vary its light intensity. The LCD receives the control signals and displays the information of the time, depth, and direction signals on the screen. A virtual image display lens mounted on the screen allows binocular viewing of the displayed information as magnified near-to-the-eye apparent screen images for a diver holding a dive mask faceplate against the screen.

    摘要: In a device for towing riders on or through the water it is known to have planar board(s) or wing(s). In this invention, there are two independently operated symmetrical wings hinged to wing supports. The fore mounted wing supports are secured to, and are perpendicular to, the longitudinal body of the craft which creates a front to rear axial line. The wings have hand hold openings through them at their trailing edge and are manually operated, up or down, by the slightly forward arms of a single prone rider who is aft of the wings. A belly board secured on top of the body of the craft and aft of wings, a knee brace perpendicular to the body of the craft and aft of the belly board, and a foot rest perpendicular to the body of the craft and aft of the knee brace; secures, and makes comfortable, the rider to the craft.
