摘要： A tray is assembled by automated equipment from a die cut blank. Tabs on opposing ends of side pieces are enfolded in rolled ends. A serrated edge on a distal edge of each rolled end is placed into a slit and crushed area to interlock the distal edge with the blank and form a tray with interlocked walls. The serrated edge does not penetrate the die cut blank, thus providing a leakproof, interlocked tray. Perforations define various fold lines to facilitate the use of automated equipment to form the tray. Release paper is placed on the central portion of the tray, with cake batter placed on the release paper. The batter can be baked into a cake while still in the tray.

摘要： The present invention is directed to rigid disposable food containers provided with a relatively steep sidewall with a generally linear profile and an outwardly flared arcuate flange portion. The containers are further characterized by a flange outer vertical drop wherein the ratio of the length of the vertical drop to the characteristic diameter of the container is greater than about 0.01. By virtue of unique geometry, the containers of the invention exhibit improved rigidity and/or rim stiffness yet have favorable runnability in pressware manufacturing systems characteristic of plates of lower strength.

The tray is formed from paperboard or similar foldable sheet material, and includes a base and opposed side and end walls hingedly connected to the base. Means are provided to give fluid communication between the surface of the base that forms the tray interior and a void so that fluid present in the tray can drain into the void. The void is formed by a double skinned zone adjacent at least a portion of the intersection between the base and at least one of the side and/or end walls, the double skinned zone being provided by folded outer panels of the opposed side and/or end walls.

摘要： A reinforced cardboard box for storage and shipping of elongated items and rolled documents is described. The box is formed from a single piece of cardboard and may be rapidly assembled without the use of tools. The box comprises an elongated rectangular bottom panel, first and second joined side panels, and first and second abutting top panels foldably joined to the side panels and constructed to form a center top closure for the box. The second top panel includes a series of tab openings. The center closure permits the finished box to be sealed by an automated tape machine. A reinforcing rib panel, having a series of bendable tab elements extending from an elongated edge, is foldably joined to the second top panel. The bottom panel has a pair of abutting end panels foldably joined to either end. The second side panel has a pair of outer side end panels foldably joined to either end and a pair of inner side end panels foldably joined to the outer side end panels. A pair of top reinforcing extensions are foldably joined to the inner side end panels of the abutting end panels. A pair of rounded closing end panels are foldably joined to either end of the first top panel. A closing member may extend from the distal edge of the first top panel. The second top panel may include an opening sized, shaped and located to receive the closing member. In use, the side panels are folded inwardly from the bottom panel and the inner side end panels are folded over the abutting end panels to form a receiving pocket for the rounded closing end panels between the inner and outer side end panels. Next the reinforcing rib panel is folded over the top reinforcing extensions and secured to the second top panel by means of the bendable tab elements and the top panels are folded inwardly. The rounded closing end panels are then inserted into the receiving pockets, the closing member is inserted into the closing member opening and the box is taped closed.
