摘要： A fender shaper system for equestrian use, that can be easily added to a new or used saddle system, shapes the fenders optimally and holds the desired shape permanently, thus eliminating the conventional need to soak the fenders in water and reshape them repeatedly due to their inherent tendency to revert back toward the original flat shape unless kept stored in a special holder. The fender shaper system permanently ensures the correct free-hanging stirrup orientation that makes mounting easier and safer by avoiding any need to reach down and turn the stirrup manually, and also ensures riding comfort free of leg stress and fatigue from having to continuously counteract a tendency of the stirrups to hang at an incorrect orientation. The fender shaper is formed from sheet stainless steel bent into the shape of a right angle bracket with curvature. In a primary embodiment for leather fenders, the fender can be fastened to the fender shaper with a pair of ornamental screw fasteners and a retaining tab. The stirrup strap is retained against the front of the fender shaper by a retaining strap for correct free-hanging stirrup orientation. A secondary embodiment for fenders of the woven fabric type can be attached with self-adhesive disengagable fastening material such as Velcro.

摘要： The instant invention is a western style stirrup with a plurality of internal springs to lessen the normal vibration, impact and shock normally encountered when riding a horse. Four springs are mounted internally to the stirrup. The spring apparatus is connected to a riser by means of a hook end on the springs. The riser is connected through a connection means, weld, threaded or non-threaded connection means, to a riser bar. The riser bar is the portion of the instant invention that is connected to the saddle through the common leatherwork used in saddles. The function of the riser bar is to transfer force from the stirrup to the saddle. The four internal springs in the stirrup transfer the force from the foot of the rider via the stirrup body to the riser bar.

摘要： A riding stirrup includes a foot-receiving part 1 and a plate-like part 2 which is suspended from a strap 14. The part 1 is pivotally received on a tongue 7 held by a flange 8 and a retaining plate 9 which is secured to the plate 2 by snap fasteners 11. Normal downward forces on the stirrup do not dislodge the plate 9, but if the rider falls from the saddle the part 1 pivots in direction A levering the fasteners 11 apart. The retaining plate 9 is thus freed allowing the foot-retaining part 1 to separate from the suspension part 2.

摘要： An improved equestrian saddle creates an angle of separation between the stirrup and the body of the horse to aid the insertion of the rider's foot. A fender conforms to the shape of an attached molded plate. As a result, the stirrup strap is twisted, turning the associated stirrup away from the horse. The molded plate is intended to be shaped by a user, maintain its shape during normal use conditions, and be re-shaped by the user at will. Alternatively, the plate could be molded into a permanent shape and attached to the fender. In yet another embodiment, the plate could be shaped by the user and then made rigid by the user. The plate is preferably inserted into a pocket in the fender structure.

摘要： A correctly seated stirrup including a lower portion having a foot hole with a central axis there through and formed with a top wall, a bottom wall, and spaced side walls there between. Each side wall is trapezoidal in shape and has a shorter width adjacent to the top wall and a greater width adjacent to the bottom wall. The side walls are located closer together adjacent to the top wall than adjacent to the bottom wall whereby the foot hole is formed in a trapezoidal configuration. An upper portion has a strap hole with an axis there through perpendicular to the axis of the foot hole. The upper portion is formed with a top wall, a bottom wall, and spaced side walls there between, whereby the strap hole is formed with a width greater than the width of the top and bottom walls of the lower portion. An intermediate coupling portion between the lower portion and the upper portion forms a one piece homogeneous stirrup.

摘要： The extendable stirrup includes an upper stirrup, a lower stirrup slidably connected to the upper stirrup, a lock, a release and a retraction mechanism. The upper stirrup is a full stirrup, which includes an upper foot plate to support the rider's foot during riding and which attaches in a known manner to the stirrup strap of a saddle. The lower stirrup slides between retracted and extended positions on the upper stirrup and can be extended downward to give the rider a lower “step” for mounting the horse. A lock is disposed on the upper and lower stirrups and engages in the extended position locking the lower stirrup in the extended position. A release disengages the lock upon downward movement of the lower stirrup or, in an alternative embodiment, upon pressure applied to a trigger on the upper foot plate when the lower stirrup is in the extended position. In either embodiment, when the release disengages, the lower stirrup automatically retracts toward the upper stirrup. With the lower stirrup is in the retracted position, the upper and lower stirrups remain nested together to detract less from the aesthetic appeal of the rider, the riding gear, and the horse.

摘要： A riding stirrup (10) includes a hanger rod (11) for connecting the stirrup to a saddle, and a stirrup loop (12) connected to the hanger rod. The stirrup loop (12) defines a stirrup opening (14) through which a rider may extend their foot when the rider is sitting in the saddle. The stirrup loop (12) also includes an elongated base support tread (17) positioned generally at the bottom of the loop. The base support tread (17) extends at a slant with respect to a stirrup centerline (CL) which extends perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the hanger rod (11), through a midpoint of the rod, and through the base support tread. This slant places the distance between an outer tread section (21) and the hanger rod (11) greater than the distance between an inner tread section (20) and the hanger rod.
