摘要: Disclosed are methods for purifying polyols containing oxyalkylene units that is an alkali metal catalyzed alkoxylation reaction product of an alkylene oxide and an H-functional starter. The methods include neutralizing the alkali metal ions with an aqueous solution comprising water and sulfuric acid, in which: (i) the sulfuric acid is present in an amount of no more than 5% by weight, based on the total weight of the aqueous solution, and (ii) the sulfuric acid is used in an amount of 2% to 10% more than the theoretical amount necessary to neutralize all of the alkali metal ions present. The methods can produce polyols having a low content of 2-methyl-2-pentenal.

摘要: The present invention aims to provide a method of producing a polyether polyol having a low aldehyde content, the method including simpler steps; and a method of producing polyurethane foam having a reduced amount of aldehyde volatilization. The present invention provides a method of producing a polyether polyol (F) including step (1) of obtaining a crude polyether polyol composition (D2) having a pH higher than 5.0 by contact of a crude polyether polyol composition (D1) containing a polyether polyol (A) with an acid catalyst (B) in the presence of water, the polyether polyol (A) being obtainable by ring-opening polymerization of an alkylene oxide with an active hydrogen compound; and step (2) of removing a volatile component containing an aldehyde (C) after step (1).

摘要: A method of purifying a crude polyalkylene oxide polymer that contains a catalyst, such as potassium hydroxide. The method comprises contacting the crude polyalkylene oxide polymer with a composition comprising an acid functionalized silicate, such as an acid functionalized magnesium silicate adsorbent containing at least one acid in an amount effective to remove the catalyst from the polyalkylene oxide polymer. Such a method provides for an improved removal of the catalyst from the polyalkylene oxide polymer.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method for the preparation of a low odor polyether polyol, including: a) providing a basic polyether polyol which comprises one or more aldehyde compounds in an amount of lower than 2 wt. %, based on the amount of said basic polyether polyol as 100 wt. %; b) adding to said basic polyether polyol an aldehyde trapping agent and said aldehyde trapping agent is reacted with said one or more aldehyde compounds to remove said one or more aldehyde compounds, wherein said aldehyde trapping agent is in an amount of 0.1 to 5 wt. %, based on the weight of said basic polyether polyol as 100 wt. %; and c) removing the excess aldehyde trapping agent to obtain said low odor polyether polyol. The present invention also relates to the low odor polyether polyol prepared by said method.
