    摘要： The invention relates to a tenter frame for treating web materials such as woven or knitted fabrics, film or the like, to apparatus for removing a web from a tenter while controlling the web and to a process for removal of a web from a tenter. A pair of endless opposed tenter chains having a plurality of pins thereon engage opposite edges of the web material for holding it as it is treated on the tenter frame. Pinned rolls are provided for engaging and transferring the web material from the pins of the tenter frame with the web taken off of the tenter chains without loss of control over the web. A cutter unit is also provided for trimming the edges from the web after it has been removed from the tenter chain, and while the web remains under control of the pinned rolls, after which trimmed edges are automatically removed from the pins for discarding.

    摘要： A pile-detecting apparatus is used in a machine wherein a pile fabric is deflected over a smooth surface of a roll to detect the edge between the pile-free portion of the fabric and the portion with the pile, which edge runs parallel to the displacement direction of the fabric over the roll. The apparatus has a support plate, a frame carrying the plate, a plurality of rollers mounted on the frame and riding on the surface of the deflecting roll, and at least one light source on the plate for generating light beams and directing same tangentially of the surface. Respective detectors on the plate receive the respective light beams.

    摘要： The selvage is to be formed in a longitudinal edge portion which contains fusible warp threads and from which filling thread end portions protrude. The apparatus comprises a carrier and a heating device mounted on said carrier and comprising two relatively movable jaws cyclically operable to close against and open from said edge portion. The jaws are heatable to melt said fusible threads when said jaws are closed against said edge portion. The apparatus further comprises shears mounted on said carrier and cyclically operable to close against and open from said protruding filling thread end portions so as to cut off the latter, and drive means for cyclically operating said jaws and shears to open and close in phase opposition to each other.
