摘要: The present disclosure relates to a pole shield for extending around a pole structure. The pole shield comprises one or more than one sheet of composite material forming a hollow structure having an open first end and an opposed open second end. The sheet or sheets of composite material comprise from about 50% to about 80% by weight of a reinforcement impregnated with about 20% to about 50% of a polyurethane resin composition comprising a combination of a polyol component and a polyisocyanate component. Two or more pole shields may be stacked one on top of the other to form a pole shield structure which extends the height of protection of the pole structure. The pole shield can be used for protecting a pole structure from damage, such as from fire, rain, wind, sand, ice, pests, moisture or electrical. The pole shield may also be used to provide structural support to a pole structure.

摘要: A pile repair apparatus includes a metal clamp having left and right brackets connected by a hinge member. A friction surface is positioned along an inner surface of the metal clamp to improve the connection of the apparatus to a pile to be repaired. A platform is connected to a top surface of the metal clamp, and a means for providing buoyancy to the pile repair apparatus can be secured to the platform. The buoyancy of the apparatus allows a diver to move and to submerse the apparatus easily and to position the apparatus around a pile to be repaired by opening and closing the apparatus about the hinge member. The apparatus is secured to the pile by inserting a bolt through corresponding apertures in the left and right brackets of the apparatus.

摘要: A method and apparatus for repairing a tubular member in an offshore marine environment provides a specially configured shell having shell halves, longitudinal seals, and optionally upper and lower seals. Additionally, the shell halves are each provided with a plurality of threaded fasteners that will help with shell alignment, holding the shell rigidly to the tubular member prior to grouting operations.

摘要: A pile jacking sleeve includes a structural sleeve having a bottom section, an intermediate section and a top section. A stationary plate partitions the bottom section from the top section. A floating plate separates the intermediate section from the top section. A hinged door at the top section allows lateral entry of a piling into the top section when the door is open. An aperture allows insertion and removal of at least one jack into the intermediate section. Actuation of the jack urges the floating plate away from the stationary plate, controllably imparting a load to installed piling. A plurality of bolt holes are also provided in the sleeve to secure piling thereto. The sleeve may be jacketed for additional protection. A plurality of grout windows are also provided in the sleeve to enable filling the structure with a solidifying filler.

摘要: Damaged sections of existing piles are replaced with a replacement pile section that includes various segments, including a jack section for sizing and preloading the replacement pile section to original design loads and strengths. The replacement pile section includes at least one coupler having a jack section, which includes a jack for applying a design load to the pile and a plurality of jack screws that are adjusted to accept the design pile load; the hydraulic jack is removed through an access opening, so that the jack screws carry the load; the cavity in the jack section is filled with grout, such as concrete through the access opening, which is then sealed. Other sections of the replacement pile section include, for example, intermediate pile sections, shock absorbing sections, and additional couplers. An alternative embodiment employs two or more balanced hydraulic jacks bearing against external jack flanges fastened to the pile above and below the replaced section.

摘要: A pile wrapper is in the form of a flexible sheet (1,2) which, when encircling a pile, has two contiguous edges. These have abutments (8) which are urged together by a power tool (13) and fastened, conveniently by nuts (19) and bolts (18). The hoop tension induced in the wrapper resists wave suction forces. The wrapper can have an inner layer (2) containing a water resistant sealant which is forced into intimate contact with the pile as the tension is applied. The wrapper may also be given anti-fouling and cathodic protection properties.

摘要: A method of repairing utility a pole having a section damaged by an accident or decay includes the steps of severing the utility pole above the location of the damage; removing the section of the utility pole including the damaged portion, and replacing the lower section of the utility pole with a steel stanchion having a platform thereon with a split socket disposed above the platform. The upper section of the utility pole is then laterally slid onto the platform through a window provided by opening the split socket upon removing one of two shells forming the split socket. The split socket is then closed by bolting one shell to the other. A space between the outer surface of the upper section of the utility pole and the inner surface of the split socket is then filled with urethane foam. The stanchion is made of a steel which forms a protective iron oxide coating, which coating is brown in color so as to match the brown color of the utility pole. In a preferred embodiment of the stanchion, the stanchion has a tubular lower portion. The split socket is made of two semicircular shells which are bolted both to one another and to the platform upon which the upper section of the utility pole rests.
