Abstract: An enclosure has a door that can be opened from one of two sides by the operation of one of two handles that extend along opposing vertical sides of the door. Each handle can move corresponding upper and lower latch bars that allow that same side of the door to be selectively released from one set of hinge pins that are affixed to the enclosure and allow the door to pivot about another set of hinge pins on the opposite side. Guide pins on the hinge side engage arcuate guide channels as the door pivots, preventing the door from being detached once pivoted about one of the axes. When the latch bars are moved to the release position on one side, the latch bars on the opposite side are prevented from being moved to the release position at the same time.

Abstract: A gate is provided and includes a gate body, a hinge assembly attached to a first side of the gate body, and a support bracket. The hinge assembly includes a pin assembly and an actuating assembly capable of moving a pin of the pin assembly between a retracted position and an extended position. The support bracket engages the pin in the extended position and is disengaged from the pin in the retracted position. The gate body has an axis of rotation extending through the pin when the pin engages the support bracket and is freely movable with respect to the support bracket when the pin is disengaged from the support bracket.

Abstract: A hinge includes an elongate connecting knuckle to which a door flange and frame flanges are pivotably attached. The door flange has a plurality of symmetrically located screw holes such that the screw holes are in alignment with screw holes formed in a door in use with the frame flange disposed on either side of the door, resulting in a reversible hinge enabling the door swing to be changed from a left-hand to a right-hand door swing or vice versa. The hinge is for use with a hinge reinforcement plate or stand-off plate which includes end portions and a centre portion offset relative to the end portions. Hollow self-clinching spacer pieces extend from the underside of the stand-off plate. The spacer pieces include internal threads and are embedded into the door frame in use and provides means for securing hinge screws through the door frame.

Abstract: According to some embodiments, a multi-panel door system includes a fixed panel and an active panel. Both panels are secured to the astragal of the door frame by securement members driven into and through hinges connected to the active panel, through the astragal, and into the fixed panel. The securement members are driven through a middle portion of the astragal stem in order to align the fixed and active panels in a recessed position with respect to the door frame. The fixed panel and the active panel are coplanar. Hinge support plates are placed between the hinges and the astragal and communicate forces transmitted through the securement members into deeper portions of the astragal.
