    摘要: The present invention is a method for repairing a construction component that has a damaged portion. First, the damaged portion is removed from the construction component. Next, a durable portion is provided that is preferably comprised of a cellulosic/polymer composite material which is moisture, decay, and insect resistant. The durable portion preferably has about the same shape as the damaged portion. The durable portion is then connected to the construction component to replace the damaged portion. The materials for repairing the construction component may be provided in a single kit.

    摘要: A door jamb protector has a protective sheet and four elongate spring strips that together function to protect the door jamb. The protective sheet includes a top surface and an opposing bottom surface bounded by a first longitudinal edge, a second longitudinal edge, and a pair of opposing lateral edges. The first longitudinal edge is opposite the second longitudinal edge. Each of the four elongate spring strips has a convex surface, a concave surface, a first end, and a second end. Each of the four elongate spring strips has the property of self-coiling when either the first or second end is bent back over the convex surface. Each of the four elongate spring strips is associated with the protective sheet such that the first end is generally adjacent to the first longitudinal edge, the second end is generally adjacent to the second longitudinal edge, and the four elongate spring strips are generally parallel to each other.

    摘要: The window frame is entirely made of plastic and has a glazing frame to be mounted in an opening of a door and a panel frame for fitting on the glazing frame from an opposite side of the door. The frames are made of extruded plastic elements and sandwich a window frame therebetween. The elements of the glazing frame have a lip for receiving the elements of the panel frame in slide friction-fit manner. A dual durometer bead is disposed between the interfitted elements for sealing purposes. Glazing beads are also mounted in an extruded element of the glazing frame to hold a window unit in place.

The window frame itself is transparent, tinted, or translucent, instead of merely the enclosed glass window. Because the frame of the window is light permeable, additional light may pass through the window frame yielding an increase in the overall brightness of the window. Additionally, the structural and environmental integrity of the window is preserved because the window frame remains solid. A transparent screen may also replace a conventional screen to further increase light transmission.

    摘要: A reinforcing system for strengthening a door frame having two parallel vertical doorjambs separated from one another by a top horizontal doorjamb is disclosed. The reinforcing system comprises two elongated channel-shaped 90null corner members positioned in the upper opposite corners of a door frame. Each corner member is shaped by one elongated flat panel with two substantially parallel sides extending along and outward from the opposite edges of the flat side. The flat panel has a width and the parallel sides extend in a direction permitting each of the parallel sides to be positioned adjacent one of the opposing sides of a doorjamb when the flat panel is positioned adjacent the interior side of the doorjamb. The reinforcing system further comprises at least one elongated straight channel-shaped member otherwise similarly formed positioned on the doorjamb opposite where the door hinges will be attached. The reinforcing system further comprises a strike having a tubular body extending substantially perpendicular from its plate and into an opening through the doorjamb and into the wall stud to which the doorjamb is attached. The tubular body is closed at the extending end by an end plate having an opening shaped to permit a screw, nail or other similar attaching member to extend into the structural member to fix the tubular body to the wall stud.
