摘要: A glazed-in ventilator (10) includes a flap (12) which is rotatable about its longitudinal axis. Each end of the flap is connected by a thumb wheel (24) to an end cap (28). Inside the thumb wheel, a series of projections (36) engage a conical surface (34). This engagement provides an axial thrust along the flap which ensures that the structure of the ventilator is rigid. In addition, the ventilator may be manufactured to relatively low tolerances and the friction coupling provided by the engagement of pegs (36) and surface (34) works well even if the flap is not exactly the designed length.

摘要: A ventilator for slider type windows is provided, the ventilator having triangular end members and one or more bridging members extending therebetween. The ventilator is positionable between fixed and movable portions of the window and deflects incoming air upwardly or to the side. Each bridging member is provided with a pair of rib portions, each having a partially enclosed slot running the length thereof. Each end member has a slot adapted to receive the end face of a bridging member and has a pair of holes extending therethrough in alignment with the corresponding slots of the bridging member received therein. A screw extends through each hole and is threaded into the adjacent bridging member slot to secure the bridging member to the end member. The ventilator is particularly useful with combination storm and screen windows or doors. The ventilator can be packaged with all components flat and can be assembled and disassembled with ease.

摘要: The present invention is an insulated modular wall system for quickly and efficiently constructing buildings of one or more stories. Included in this modular wall system is a plurality of building pans, each having a pair of flanges for interlocking adjacent building pans. Some of these flanges are configured to compensate for dimensional variations that are inherent in each of the building pans. If not compensated for, these dimensional variations can result in excessive stress when a plurality of adjacent building pans are interlocked. Included in the invention is a unique method for supporting convention floor boards, and a unique arrangement for creating a gap for electrical wires and the like.

There is a freely movable window panel which is positioned in a rigid frame structure without the use of any hinge members yet can be retained therein in an intermediate ventilating position. 摘要: A thermal break ventilator unit designed to extend between the opposed end jambs of a window frame. The thermal break ventilator unit has a box-shaped body with a ventilating passage therethrough. Essentially cylindrical, opposed raceways are attached to the opposed end jambs within the box-shaped body. A substantially drum-shaped closure unit rotates within the opposed raceways. The closure unit has a closed position wherein the ventilating passage is closed and an open position wherein the venilating passage is substantially unrestricted by the closure unit. Structural heat transfer barriers are incorporated into the metallic parts of the thermal break ventilating unit and are so located that, when the closure unit is in its closed position, there is no continuous, metallic path by which heat can flow between the interior and exterior parts of the ventilator unit.

摘要: An air relief mechanism for use in an opening in a storm door disposed in hinged relationship in the outer side of a casing around a door opening containing an inner door disposed in hinged relationship within the casing. An inner frame is secured to the inside surface of the storm door and engages the periphery of said opening. A screen is disposed in said frame and fills said opening. An outer frame is secured to the outside surface of the storm door and engages said opening, said frame having a slot disposed outside the storm door. A flap is pivotally disposed in said outer frame, said flap being biased into a normal first position at which said opening and said slot are isolated from each other, said flap responding to an air pressure differential developed when one of said doors is moved from open to closed position while the other door is in the closed position to momentarily assume a second position at which said opening and said slot communicate with each other and said differential is quickly reduced to zero.
